I accepted a player mission to take a parcel from one place to another. I paid almost all my savings in escrow/deposit, and collected and took the package.
On arrival at destination I could not deliver it.
What should I do? ________________________________________________

Unfortunatly it looks like u have fallen for a "fake" courier mission. Somtimes players will generate a courier mission that requires a huge collateral payment to deliver a parcel.
As soon as u accept the mission they cancel it and keep your money. There is no way to avoid this except by being careful about the missions u choose. Avoid ones that seem to offer huge sums of money for not a lot of work.

Edited by: Jorev on 06/08/2003 02:25:54 Why should someone be able to cancel a mission after it was accepted?
This is a serious design flaw that should be addressed immediately. CCP should be embarassed to allow this kind of exploitation to continue.
Heathwalker you should file a petition/cheat and ask for reimbursement. That's ridiculous.

Are you sure you delivered it rightly ?? I mean, being at the right place, did you open your journal, rightclicked the mission and selected "deliver" ??

I have done lots of them before, so am sure.
Is amazing you can cancel a mission.
Oh well donations kindly accepted.
I put uo 250,000 collateral, against 265,000 I had! Serves me right for being greedy I guess :( ________________________________________________

You were not being greedy, just trying to earn some isk. You definitetly should petition this as a cheat/exploit and ask for reimbursement.
This is such a fundamental design flaw, it should have been spotted in beta and fixed back then.
CCP doesn't even provide players with the tools necessary to protect themselves from these mission scams. The missions should list the specific items that are being delivered so you can make an educated judgement call on wether the collateral exceeds the value of the merchandise. That would be a clear sign of a scam if it did.
The GMs also know about these mission scams as I have talked to them about it before.

Yeah, the courier missions really need some work atm. Because of these scams and the fact that u must spend alot of time traveling for only a few isk its not worth your while.

well if this is the case i would break open the package. more then likly though you are the proud owner of a 250k basic co-proc or some other worthless item
i agree it sucks and there should be more done to get courier missions some what exploit free.
