This is, however, beside the point. 4S in and of itself means nothing. IF it were empirically offensive it ought to be changed, but its not. 4S was neither stating what it meant or trying to point out that it was a symbol for something negative, which it is not, in order to circumvent the obscenity restrictions placed on corp names.
Finally, however, if something was so ambiguous don't you think that paying customers deserve some warning and a discussion before their name is hijacked?

As Baun stated 4S stands for "Samo Sloga Srbina Spasava" which on cyrilic is typed with C. that 4C u can c on Serbian National Amblems for many hundred years, Eagle with 4C. So every single serb will use it as logo/amblem as it is/was used for hundreds of years already.
that is also OFFICIAL AMBLEM of Serbia. there r no terrorist or whatever forces called by that its simply used by EVERY SINGLE SERB IN THE WORLD. cuz thats national amblem as i already said so right ? does it look any brighter to u now ?

4S was banned because some loonie decided to petition their corp name/ticker because there once was someone in serbia who was in charge of the police force (who uses the 4S-phrease/symbol as their badge) and made the police to do evil things.
If there was not some damn good reason apart from what has been presented in this thread (probably by the guy who petitioned them) I think CCP should be ashamed over what your GM's did.

You know even after being up in geminate thats just plain stupid. If anything Seleenes idea of Body Count Inc. is more offending that 4S.(Sorry Sel but it is... ) Sorry whether they intended it to mean that or not 4S Corporation is not offending. As im pretty sure that very few people even knew what 4S stood for.. Seriously though. There are more offensive names out there in peoples very character names and they have to pick out something so obscure as 4S. That has to be the stupidest name change ever. I mean come on people lets just continue playing the game not comtemplating the deeper meaning of corp names....

I also have a grandfather who fought against the Germans in World War II, Over 50 years Ago! I DEMAND! That any reference to anything German be removed from this game.
I have some friends who went to New Zealand on their honeymoon a couple of months back. They found the country absolutely beautiful and now want to go back. This undermines the economics of my country, which of course is far superior to anything else. I DEMAND! That any reference to anything New Zealandish (sp?) Be Removed This Instant!
See how retarded this sounds? Please tell me CCP you don't hire people who actually listen to moronic rants like this. And hell, I wasn't even trying.. think of what I could come up with if I put some effort into an argument for something.
This game transcends geographic and political boundries between people to the point where they don't matter anymore. We're all people who live in the universe of EVE, the real world doesn't matter in here.
I have serious problems with telling the GM's to get a clue, but I can't think of any other way to interpret this. If there's another side to this story, Your community wants to hear it.
