It seems Deutch, Russian, and ?Chinese i think? all have correctly localized characters on the login screen. Switching to english makes Russian localization characters show on the login screen.

cannot get into game with any choices given here without being booted or the screen just freezing up

Yeah that's a pretty ****** thing to do.

The saddest part is this whole launcher fiasco has left CCP with almost zero credibility with respect to the launcher. That such an outlandish claim is even remotely believable speaks volumes. I mean, it might be true. I don't think it is, but the way things have been going can you really blame anybody for believing it?

Spreading rumors like that doesn't help anybody.

Just woke up, logged into EVE and only found out there had been a problem from the news post.

Well done to CCP for resolving a major network issue, happening at the worst time of the day for any support team.

My launcher looks perfectly normal, I just keep having socket closing issues.

If it continues look for a server error.. then look for the windows repair option..

The person keeping this thread going is probably passed out on one of the sofa in the office. They'll get around to keeping people posted when they have news.

I can't be bothered to go through 30 pages of posts, but I was able to get in by just launching the eve.exe file from my EVE directory. Worked for both of my accounts, one on a computer with Windows 7 and the other with XP (yes, I know).

CCP you are not funny and your launcher is crap, I have nothing but disgust at your light-hearted attitude to this.

cant get on for more than a few seconds with any of my 6 accounts ... sometimes launcher wont even launch

in aussie looking at russian launcher

tried everything already and now even more stuffed ... i.e. repair tool did nothing except wipe all my usernames stored in launcher

other mmo's work fine ... all other online programs work fine

getting to 8hrs now .. so yeah .. if its 3am or whatever their time so bloody what its their job they are paid well

Launcher partly in Russian (connect button and information around it, the rest is in english). Managed to connect and everything seems to work just fine. However, single sign-on page (out of game one) is in Russian. Location is Croatia.

I seem to have had the opposite problem to that experienced by most.

I lost all access to the forums at around 03:00 UTC and still couldn't get in when I stopped trying at approx 05:15 UTC, so I was completely in the dark about what was happening. On the other hand I was able to log in to the game at about 04:15 UTC (no launcher problems for me - one advantage of not having a launcher! ).

Flying a shopping trip from Hek to Rens and back without encountering another player during the entire round trip is an experience I doubt that I'll repeat any time soon.

Woah, I logged off at about 11pm UTC and just tried to log back in and saw all these launcher problems. Feel sorry for all those people with skills in training and pos fuel running out etc. I am dreading to think of what will happen when odyssey is implemented.

Also scrapping the launcher would be completely stupid, and has nothing to do with the quote you posted from Hilmar. The difference is the new launcher is actually good if it works. And seeing as it was just released they need time to iron out any problems.

it doesn't work for me either - keeps applying a 23MB patch. When it does launch the launcher it's in f*cking Russian FFS!

I am back in, and everything seems to be running smoothly now!!

Not being able to log on and resupply the fuel or queueing more skills... easy to see where it's affected:)

And: these 'socket closed' issues are not from the last 24 hours, but are already active for 3 days. The launcher not working is linked to that, and with the few people mentioning a 23mb patch... there is no patch, so how did it get there:)

I am able to log in, but with random disconnects happening due to the 'socket closed' issue, it is not worth logging in and doing my usual exploration etc. runs in low sec... I'll sit this one out, and have made sure that both my accounts are in training for more than 6 days:)
