Not sure if this is the right forum, but.. having some real problems with running these 2 apps, found a way atm, but wondering if other people had same problem.
Seems to be a conflict between Azureus (java based bit-torrent app) and eve.
If i run azureus while i have eve open, eve will freeze. If i run eve when azureus is running, eve will hang at start-up until i close azureus.
Current workaround i have, is eve will start to function normally again if i alt-enter between windowed/fullscreen after i've opened azureus.
Anyone else had this problem? More to the point, anyone know a possible way to fix the problem?

Damn you disco, I only came to this thread to say that.

Yeah, because the only thing on bittorrent is warez, course i forgot that.
A lot of game demos etc are easier to get through it, and i put it on low bandwidth use so i can leave it on in the background. Which then means eve refuses to start again when the CTDs come around.
So if you'll kindly stop trolling my qustion..

I had the same problem. Let me guess: You have a Marvel Yukon Gigabit Ethernet controller - maybe an Asus Board too. If yes - update the drivers to the latest version.

It's java thats messed up, I have the same problem. My screen becomes blurry when I use java. EVE wont play also video will freeze the computer. I dont know what to do, I just use a different torrent program and try to avoid using java all together. I tryed uninstalling java and reinstalling but still the same problem.

IIRC, before I ran out of space, I used them concurrently. ----------------- T2 Destroyers: a proposal |

For you Angelic warez haters, the latest EVE patch is available on bittorrent, as is the client.. Secondly, I have similair problems with Java apps and EVE, the source, I do not know.. The solution, for me at least, was to remove the SUN java client and hunt down the old Microsoft one. HTH

EVE and that Azureus thingie seem to run okay for me (need to set the upload/download limit so it doesn't hog the whole connection and lag the heck out of EVE, though) ... i always have EVE in window mode, though. Maybe it makes some difference ^^;;
(this is with both Microsoft and Sun versions of Java installed, with just the Sun version my browser wouldn't launch some applets and stuff)

It probably does not help you, but EVE and Azureus should work without crashing each other - it works at least for me, Centrino notebook with internal graphics card and WinXP.
