What would you think if there was an EVE online book? Maybe about the war between the Empires and so on.
Would you buy it?

What would be the feeling on a novel from the author of the Ruthless novella, Tony Gonzales?

I was about to say something and then realised that there are teens reading. So let's say it will be better then chocolate.
Add artwork to it here and there and you'll have tons of eve players knowing what to ask for Chrismas..or birthdays, or any other occasion that asks for a great gift.

It is really hard to say, a novella requires a completely different style to a novel. I loved Ruthless, but it was way to superficial (in writting style) to make a good novel. That isn't to say Tony Gonzales can't do it, I'm sure he can. I'm just saying it is hard to extrapolate the potential of one to the other. ______________________________________________

Books with detailed information about the races, their history, the age before the EvE universe, perhaps a journal from someone that lived when the first colonies settled, etc... would certainly be on my wish list.
If you can pay with other methods than PayPal and creditcards, off course .

I would definitely buy it. Ruthless was a great story...of course, I can't say I've read a bad story yet here in the Backstory section of this site.

I'd buy it. but i think, if a book using Eve background is written, that even people that doesn't play Eve should be able to read it and enjoy it.

On a more serious note, I'd definitely buy a novel based on the eve universe if it continues the atmosphere of the short stories that we already know. And as proposed before, add some of the great artwork too

I recently read Ruthless and yes, I do buy an eBook from Tony without question.
Like Kin Hanyerec says a novel should have enough EVE background that everyone can enjoy it.
EVE has a great backgroud history, I will love to see a novel based on the game.

I'd buy it. I love the EVE Universe.
It's the perfect mix between horrible future nastiness and classic SciFi beauty.

I'd read it, provided he had a good editor. Ruthless' second chapter really brought it down imho. ---

I disagree, we need someone who knows the EVE universe. To have someone who doesnt know the game would just ruin it for the players. I would be great if you didnt play the game and read an EVE book written by him.
Edit: Tony Gonzales 4tw! \o/ But as a player/novel buyer I would feel cheated.
Its not a question if he's a good writter or not, its if he knows the material enough to write about it. I would venture to guess he doesnt.

He is a huge Sci-Fi buff, and has been working in games recently, so how do you know he doesn't play? He would absolutly be my first choice. ------------------------------------- You are all worthless, and weak.

Orson Scott Card would kill EVE. Don't even bring up the idea of having him write an EVE novel. - Proud member of the [23].
