The immense firepower in play blew up so many ships that the market in Rens was almost bare from all the replacements people bought. I must apologise for this rumour as I didn't expect to be believed when I made it up.

One of the more amusing was that it had something to do with the ruined monuments and you needed a certain key from somebody/something. You could only use it once to go in and have a look around but you couldn't take anything out (think the key was gained from an officers' girl friends brothers' uncle twice removed or something). Monuments, keys, certain time period activation... I think the player I heard it from moved on to WoW most likely.

And also some asteroids are hollow and contain special space pets which you can collect to train and set to fight against other player's space pets.
