No, its ok. But i haven't thought about CCP being so quick about it, to give us again 50k SP. But hey, it's for free, enjoy. Don't spend all at once!  |

I haven't checked to see if all 14 of my accounts have them yet as I am still doing the update. Is it applied to the highest sp player? |

Yep, I have 50k extra on my characters also. looks like this is the compensation then. I guess it makes up for a days lost training, even though I didn't actually lose any training at all. :) |

It wasn't CCP's fault. I was frustrated that I orchestrated this marvelous Sunday plan to get my sister to take my elderly dad on a small road trip while my wife was on a gambling trip with her sisters and my kids were at one of my in-law's houses destroying their furniture....only to have NO EVE.
Beer in the fridge = check
Family squared away for the day = check
Barbeque (hell, left over Saturday barbeque is still barbeque on Sunday) = check
Got someone else at work to be on call that weekend (newly promoted rookie Sergeant's are so lovely) = check
EVE Online = FFFFUUUUUUUUU
But at least I got some skill points, so thanks CCP for looking out for your customers even when it's not your fault.

A comp day for CCP is a day of lost revenue. While 50k SP costs them exactly 0 $. I'd prefer a comp day but I'll take the SP and say thank you. |

50k Sp is a nice touch, however most FW pilots have lost a ton of ISK not being able to log in and buy Faction BS 100k LP cheaper before the patch.
Personally I'm 3 billion less well off than I was before the servers went down in the middle of a logistics session.
Not amused :)

Dear CCP.
As much as I like free SP, I think awarding compensatory SP for downtime resulting from a DDOS attack is a bad idea.
I have seen in this game an almost aspergian level "one upmanship" and for that I would not put it past some people to get the idea that they can carry out DDOS attacks more often as a means of getting more free SP.
Free SP allocated and in reserve can be a weapon you see. Having it on-hand for a situation can allow a player to adapt at the click of a button.
When a few DP or percentage of tanking is what makes the difference, it becomes an "I win" button.
For some people, if that means a KM or in the last throes of a battle, NOT being the loss, I have no doubt they will be motivated to carry out DDOS attacks to add this I WIN button to their arsenal.
If you are going to make a habit of awarding SP after DDOS attacks, please, for the sake of not having more in the future, put in a delay to the application of said SP, like a 24 hour lag between the initiation of application and the application of the effect. This would "de-weaponize" unallocated SP and hence remove the incentive to DDOS the server.

I'm pretty sure a majority of EVE players would refrain from this activity because, you know, it is a criminal activity. We are not talking about a EULA violation here. A DDOS attack is serious business. Far more serious business than internet spaceships. |

It's already been decided that 50k SP is too low a bonus to entice DDoSers to do it for skill point compensation.

Yes, we will honor such requests and reallocate the SP to a character on the same account as long as the skillpoints have not been spent already. I'm afraid we can't reallocate the 50k SP to characters on other accounts, nor will we be able to move it over to a character on the same account if the SP has already been spent.
