We had a long discussion prior to the wardec from the MC about moving up to 0.0 since you would not engage us on sufficient numbers there. Plus Empire wars are fun and all but it doesent really affect you that much. The people that gets killed in empire wars bar the fighters really doesent belong in the alliance anyways... So you might say that we would do you a favour and trim the fat...
We decided not to stay in empire and rather push on towards our goal. If we had been bogged down in empire with the MC wich are good and perhaps better empire fighters then us then it would be all worth your money.
Lets face it, we are a alliance forged on the basis of fighting in 0.0 not in Jita. So if we would go off our plans and stick to empire and duke it out you would win due to the fact that you would delay us, be able to make money and recoup your losses. So in the end we did the right tactical decision to bring the fight to you. Our quarrel is not with some random merc group (please dont hit me seleene  ) but with you guys.
You made your bed, now lie in it instead of cowering behind mercs!
We had our schedule and we stuck with it. Now deal with it and come face us in your homes...

As for not up to the task. Well... I personally hate empire wars, I'd rather spend my days being what lesser corps, in members mind you, call a blobber. Big fleetfights with adrenaline and lots of explosions is what I live and breathe for in EVE.
Its also what we do best. If getting us out of Lonetrek was your objective, then congratulations! I'm sorry to see that you spend 4bill a week on something you could have gotten for free, or would have gotten anyways...
What I'm trying to say is that the MC isnt the reason we left empire, it was a freak coincident. I would show you the five directors forum, but I'm afraid you would see our plans for world domination then... 
We agreed to move up to 0.0 weeks before the MC wardec and the final decision and time was set days before the wardec...
But by all means keep telling yourself that. I dont mind, nor do most of the five. Just remember that its all a matter of opinion and absolutely noone can have the full picture.
As for meeting the MC head on then we will, if needed. But on our terms. Only fools engage a competent enemy on their terms. You should know that.
this will be my last rant for the evening. 12 hour workdays and 20 hour days deffo 4tl. *yawn*

Personally I think its nice that the pirating corps and alliances like RISK and Five have such a hard time so far in this war.
Five lost the Empire battle, and lost it big. Then they went up towards BKG when RISK had it, but now that PA has total control of BKG and D4, Five is pretty much trapped with their 100 or so pilots in H-PA, in NPC stations. It will be interesting to see what they do next, and even more interesting to hear their explanations: "ohh, no, we are NOT leaving empire becuase we lost".
I bet in the coming weeks, we will hear how staying docked in NPC stations is a tactical masterplan 
I almost feel sorry for Five. Nothing has gone Fives way in this war
