What the hell did you do to the scanning system? Why did it need to be changed? I've been doing exploration for the last couple days and was doing absolutely fine up until this update, now I cant even get 100% on a signature for some reason? What idiots couldn't handle the scanning mechanics, they were fine the way they were and I got very efficient using the old scan system. I really don't know why I cant get a 100% scan down on the signatures I was scanning down pre patch. I'm quite frustrated by this system.

They made it easier,faster,more enjoyable.

The system is easier in every way. If you can't scan down a sig that you could before, the problem isn't with the system. |

The purpose of the exploration patch, Odyssey, was to make non-explorers = to explorers. It is a huge stretch to expect that experience and knowledge should make you a better explorer.

Also, if you're only been doing exploration for a few days, it's possible that you've never actually encountered the weakest class of signatures before.
Most of what really changed was simply UI related. The maximum probe strength contribution from skills also went up ~4%, which actually makes it mathematically easier to find sigs, if only barely.
Nothing else really changed with respect to the math, so, again:
My guess would be that you've just found a very weak sig that you haven't seen before, and don't actually have the probe strength to find. Try upgrading your launcher, probes, training more skills, getting into a covops or probing frigate, fitting grav caps, getting implants, etc. |
