And if the GMs verifie it, thats the end of it.
Question to RISK, When you first found out about the dread, what were your reactions on TS/gang chat?
i think my exact words were "YARRR, I LOVE COOKIES"

Bad form if you left a pos without a password. Bad form on losing BKG. Bad form on losing respect Looks like you guys have some work to do.
Err yeh, which PA corp alt are u?

Something I don't quite get...
How is bumping NOT part of the game mechanics? Surely if one ship hits another, one will bounce (or be bumped) away? No matter when or where it occurs.
Accusations of "cheating & exploits" are just plain pathetic.
You really think that it was intended that you should be able to bump ships out of a POS so as to be able to steal them?
If this were "RL" then you dont think crashing a battleship at speed into another ship would not just result in both of them being destroyed? I know this doesnt happen in combat and is required to make the game work - but just because you can do something doesnt mean that you should do something.
All I am saying is that I think that I personally don't like this style of play. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it.
If this were a Dread from your alliance or corp I hardly think you would be so quick to praise.
This is not RL, this is a game, and they are playing within the mechanics of it, IMO this goes under the whole WCS/ECM is lame type of thing, not lame, game mechanic.
but imagine if the game was the way you want it, everything crashing into everything BOOM! the amount of lag it would create, much easier to just let things bouce off.

What do you mean this is not RL???
This is using a game mechanic for an unintended purpose. Its not lame like hacking a TS server or out of game forum, but its still an abuse IMO.
Its not deemed an exploit and that is fine, but its still "making the most of" game mechanics. As I said, if thats how some people want to play then fine, but not everyone is the same, be a boring game if we were.
FYI I am a Southern Alliance Alt and I dont like PA, I just dont like to see this kind of thing.

Yea i guess, i also think its weird bumping a dread, but then what are you gonna do? maybe later when we all have Uber computers, we could do the crashing thing, but i try not to imagine their "bumping" rather pushing, very hard... OR! towing!
In any case, PA are the ones with the drones remember? so one lameness for another i guess
But well done to RISK, they must be one big pain in the ass!

Ok, if I choose to believe this was achieved by towing rather than bumping then this satisfies my RP/RL fetish and is acceptable to me!

How anyone can leave such a valuable piece of starship as a Dreadnought floating around in space unsupervised WITHOUT a large defence escort is beyond me.

Actually yes it does.
The fact PA did it first gives people PA zero right to complain about what happened. THEY PETITIONED IT for crying out loud. Petitioned something they had done just a couple of days ago.
I wasn't the one complaining about people's play styles, in fact I was advocating acceptance of different play styles.

Actually, no it doesnt.
I don't think it was good that PA did this, I dont think that it was good that they had this done to them. I dont think that things like this are good for the game. All IMO ofc.

what PA did was fly their mains pods into RISK POS that had no password set and tried to steal ships, what happened to the PA is different, the offence was petitioned because there was a password on the POS and somebody thought an exploit was used to gain access, when the truth was that somebody sabotauged the POS and then anybody could walk right in, so you guys are compairing apples to oranges saying that "pa did it first", hope this clears that part of this up and you can move on to a different thing PA did wrong

Quote: They have a Hoas spy, offlined everything but the tower so none was the wiser.
Not true. The POS was fully online, including it's formidable defenses. Here's the facts:
PA forgot to set the password. PA forgot to set security right, which allowed neutral corp (noob corp) to enter the POS without being shot, and bump the ship out of the bubble.
No spy was needed for this. We discovered these mistakes of PA by trial and error using our own guys and alts in neutral corps. In the end, we took the risk of warping a BS w/ nanos and mwd in after the tests, and found that it worked perfectly. All the while, several PA were watching this and they and their alliance did nothing to respond.
The warping in of the fleet to 'distract' the pos as Lordy boarded and warped out was no exploit, it was quite smart and well coordinated. The ships that warped in were attacked by the online station, and there was a certain level of luck involved in lordmix being able to align and warp out before being hit by a scramble battery.
All in all, just some really foolish mistakes by PA, who I might add, sure did brag about and run their mouths about stealing and destroying our hualers using the same tactic.
And yeah, 2 - 2.5 bil isk + equip isn't THAT much anymore, but for whoever owned it, sucks to be you, and it takes away a dread from PA to use against us and gives us another to use against them. Plus, it's a huge moral hit to an alliance already feeling the pressure. |
