3) Gladiator - Epic hollywood at its finest
4) Goldeneye - Best bond film ever, and personally I think the best there will ever be too

Yeah.
Personally, I haven't seen a movie in ages that I could possibly put on a list of the "best ever." Hell I haven't seen a worthwhile movie other than Appleseed in 2004 since Lord of the Rings.
Now in terms of series, I've got tons of good ones. Mmmm Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex... - Proud member of the [23].

So many awesome films... can't really choose the "best" ones. So, just off the top of my head, some films that i really enjoyed:
1) LOTR 2) Cowboy bebop: Knocking on heaven's door (Yeah so it's a cartoon film, sue me. :o It's still w1n) 3) Apocalypse Now (just captures the total madness of war) 4) Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness (just so funny - haven't seen the others)
Series:
1) Battlestar Galactica
2) gonna go with Dark Shikari here: Ghost i.t.s.: Stand Alone Complex (Pure awesomeness tbh - I don't really understand the ending for 100% though, as the last 2 episodes I have d/l'ed are very badly translated - does teh old man backstab the rest or does he just pretend to? )
(+ X-files + Taken + Lost + Band of brothers, and i guess CSI aswell, even though its always the same :p omg, so many more)

Edited by: Vydek Daamth on 13/11/2005 01:04:43 1st: "Fight Club" (I so idenified with Ed Nortons character -Jack-)
2nd (and drama): "Dances with Wolves" (First movie beside Jeremiah Johnson that didnt portray Native Americans as lying, backstabbing, murdering, rapists.) I was also dating a girl from the NW tribes at the time, so I have fond memories asscoiated with that movie.
3rd (and drama): "Blood In, Blood Out" (Didnt glamorise gangs or life in prison, and was just a damn good movie.) -Billy Bob Thorton 4tw-
4th (little of everything): "Pulp Fiction" (Look at the big brain on Bret) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have many others and sometimes it changes. Such as...
*3rd sometimes (drama): "Goodfellas" ("Shine your shoes?!? You f***ing mutt") opens trunk-bloody body shakes head- in pleading voice says no, no, no -person at back of car plunges large kitchen knife over and over into body- insert audio 'squishy sound'
*4th sometimes: "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (Butch you think you used enough dynamite?" "Okay lets get the rules straight first. What? Rules in a knife fight?!?" ... "Ready, set,go!" -kicks the big guy in the balls hard-)

1st. Serenity, (this is hands down the best sci-fi ever put on film, you can try to argue but its a well known fact so dont fight it just let it happen.)
2nd. The 13th Warrior, (theres just not enough good viking movies.)
3rd. Fight Club, (just so well done, so well told and so well acted)
4th Big Fish, (what a beautiful story)
Now for tv shows
1st. Firefly, (there is nothing to not love about this show. The story is so well told, the characters are deep, even the bad guys have depth. Not to mention its on of the only sci-fis to take sound out of space. But i digress, otherwise i could go on all day.)
2nd, a tie with X-files up till and including season 6 and Lost the first season.
