How fast can someone with maxed skills and implants can scan me down after Odysey scaning changes. Using ECCM's is still viable to earn some time and warp before he get my spot (at mission or in plex in 0.0)? |

ECCM does not counter people scanning you down.
It took me the same as the old system. Find the dude on directional, launch probes scan and warp to.
ECCM is a counter for ECM

Maybe I'm wrong but if you have radar strength higher then your ship signature radius you are like a 10/10 plex. |

Actually eccm does in fact make it harder for you to be scanned down... Back when we had the so-called "unscannable ships". they would fit eecm modules and do a few other things to make it harder to have someone get a 100% warp in. There is a formula floating around somewhere, you had to work the numbers to try to get 1.08 or something like that. |

Sensor strength does work to counter a direct combat warp in. You can only catch so called "unprobable" ships with a full virtue set iirc. However, as the new system makes it easy to identify what site you are at using a directional scanner, if someone wants to find you it is now much easier. ECCM was only really used for low and null sec missions where the site isn't probable. |

With new midslot modules you no longer need full Virtue sets to get best possible stealthy T3 fits. With Virtues, prospectors and new midslot stuff I think they can get you at 4 or 8 AU radius.
Aka they will have a warpable result on you within one minute of entering system, in some cases maybe in less than 30 seconds. |

I may be misunderstanding your post but,
What "midslot stuff" help probe strength?

Has anyone actually scanned down a formerly unprobable ship or is this all just theory. Like it's theoretically possible for a blaster newb ship to kill a blaster daredevil.

ThatGÇÖs one of those GÇ£it dependsGÇ¥ questions.
For an accomplished scanner it is only a matter of a few seconds, but that relies on a fair bit of work before you even deploy your probes. If you use your DS and a few judicious warps, you have a fair idea of where your target is in the system. Then, based on that knowledge, you can deploy your probes (preferably off DSCAN to your target), set them to a suitable range, and plonk them in roughly the right spot very quickly. If all goes well you may have a 100% fix several seconds later on the first scan, or mebbe several more seconds later on the second.
If you drop your probes out at nowhere-in-particular and start from maximal range and then, step-by-step adjust range and home in on the fix, it can take a couple minutes if youGÇÖre slow to boot GǪ and longer if they see the probes and decide to be somewhere else.
I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. Our pirate epic arc completion packages really are very good: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12973&find=unread |

Yes I realize there is some methodology involved. I am wondering how fast very good probers can get a warp in on a formerly unprobable ship without virtues.
Are you saying can get a 100% fix on a formally unprobable ship and do it keeping your probes out of dscan range (14au)? Is this possible even with virtues? You can likely do that with other ships but I would be surprised to see someone do that with a formerly unprobable ship.
Do the new odessy preset probe formations work well or do good probers mess around with the probes individually? |
