Originally by: Harry Voyager Frankly, this decision was foolhardy, and reflects poorly on CCP. The 4S, or more accuratly the 4C, is a slogan that is all but unknown to those outside of its immediate area. It is unreasonable to expect anyone beyond an extremely small number of people to have any knowledge of it at all, and equally unlikely that it was chosen with any intent at all to embody that meaning. Thus, by choosing to change it, without indication of intent upon the namer's part, creates an enviroment where an enraged minute to control the naming of the vast majority. This is a recipe for chaos.
This is the same reason corruption is bad governance; it creates an enviroment of arbitrary, unpredictable, and uninfluencable results. It is bad government.
CCP is a municipality, whether you realise it or not. You need to start thinking like it, or you will drive people away.

To think that just because it doesn't offend you means that it doesn't offend others is just like saying all black people steal cars. All black people don't... duh.
Somebody you don;t know, and most likely LOTS of somebodies you don't know all complained about it. It was stated before that CCP porbably wouldn't give a damn if it was only one person complaining. I agree.
The problem with life is that too many ignorant people are given mouths and the power to use them.
AND...
Eve is played WORLD WIDE. Who's to say this small group you speak of isn't half a damn country? Hell, who's to say it isn't halves of several countries! You're not God, so lets not pretend to know all and see all.
The bottom line is black people don;t like to be called the "N-bomb"... and Jewish people don't want to be friends with Naz! soldiers... sometimes things offend people... to call it silly, stupid, retarded, childish, the list goes on because somebody got offended is all of those.
Eve is a game involving real people. Real people DO get offended. Just cause it's not at the same time, over the same thing... doesn't make that one thing any less offensive to somebody.
