while we are mentioning bad corp names refer to the player called GOT CORN (his corp name is colonstomy bag) and corp ticker is wait for it ****. - surley this is just a disgusting corp name and his name needs to be changed to something else and his corp ticker changed say to SHIP or something

u mention a proxy error im guessing the proxy is the connecting bit for the servers to the outside internet backbone (is it still that underwater cable connecting iceland and US and europe) that was tampered with by that US submarine again.
Or was it just overloaded network traffic into the proxy server that caused it to crash (if nodes where crashing and everyone after data and trying to log back in could have pushed it all the way offlien) thanks for the update

Not in the middle of the night, the people who are awake are trying to fix this.
Edit to that last post more so within say the next 24 hours once things have settled down i should have mentioned that i dont expect it now casue its the middle of the night (its nearly lunctime where i am keep forgetting about rest of world)
Anyway within a cuople of days just a small devblog on the proxy servers what they do why it went down any ideas on how it could be fixed. Will provide a discussion alternative to this ahem other business that seems to have flared up.

Edited by: sonofollo on 09/11/2005 01:07:05 lol maybe the UFOs cut the underwater cable, ive been communicating telepathically for the last few weeks now with the little green men up in orbit they provide me with odd life events and other useful bits of data - oops stop thinking aloud. They let off a big EMP pulse over iceland that targetted eves servers hehe
Anyway so it wasnt this little protest action but instead a proxy server failure (as we are being told) what has caused that perhaps - the issues seem unrelated. Was it a result of the database upgrade last night (usually new ships and other things come with these so once market is back up must check there as well)
Im sure i can wait a few days for a description on how the proxy's melted and all that of course the devs are very busy - reboot hasnt happened yet either. Seems like the iceland to US conneciton got nerfed by the aliens. Explains a lot they have left now but the EMP pulse will take time to wear off.

Edited by: sonofollo on 09/11/2005 01:17:42 the reboot probably failed they should try within a short tiem - as for downtimes due to things related to WOW normally thigns are pretty good the unexpected downtimes here are about 10-20% of what WOW has had in the last 12 months there have been a few latley due to the growth of the game (limiting trial accounts during busy periods) has been offered as a solution to a degree and promptly ignored and uncommented on.
Otherwise no its normally pretty good except for this massive growth we are seeing but if u stick it out 6 months after RMR in and the new blade servers and drone changes and other hardware put in it should come up pretty good.
If this nasty little alliance - corp was responsible take 50% of their respective ISK balances and distribute them to all the other players that were logged on at the time and distribute in an even manner.
Sounds like a fair concord tax for removing eve off the map.

ewlcome to all those wow convertees - this dt issues arent normally a problem CCp has a small growth spurt on its hands and some teething problems exist but xmas RMR patch and new blade servers and a host of other hardware and software upgrades will soon have it back to its normal near perfect self - still much better than wow as well

well CCP are saying its prolly a proxy server issue not a node crash which would and could rule out the little 500 shuttles at SS out of the running

SSSS (space ships @ safe spots) mmm that would be almost all ingame players at one point or another right ?
Space shuttles @ safe spot - ok so someone creative thinking in dropping 500 of em at the jita SS ? - safe spot before anyone goes off.
Serious space shooter sim anyone ? ok lo enough of double speak hehe
What is going to be done about the current corp with the corp ticker of **** (thats right a one man corp setup by GOT CORN) id like to see that removed as well

another reason for carebears to leave jita - mmm well im going to start leaving a can at the gates in jita or at the station or asteroid fields. Sit there in my BS (of course once RMR is in) and then shoot the newbs that try to take my 1 trit in a can (i think a cloaker device will also be of some use) - that might be the one thing that encourages the exodus and spreads the populations around

turtle head criminal prosecution isnt possible simply because they havent done any psyhical damage or financial damage (ie stealing money from anyone) i think the -5 sec status on all those involved is more than enough.
Hey on the flip side if it was responsible it tested the node to its limits provided CCP with more data to plan future programming (ie making shuttles less lag inducing perhaps by reducing the time they can spend left in space) like drones should pop at 7 days left floating around (CONCORD comes and removes unclaimed shuttles and drones after 7 days)
