Another tip:
Use EVEwho.com
That webbsite will show the current members but more important also members that left. Look at the list, if you wee that most members only stay in corporation for a very very short time, try to find out why. Are you in need of some nice chat? Are you new and want some help? Avoid:
* Don't contract them your gear to move to the base of operations of said corp before joining the corp. They will steal your **** and wont accept you either.
* If someone states they are recruiting for another corp but are not a member of said corp. Block them- you are about to be scammed somehow.

NightCrawler 85 wrote:3. If the recruiter uses abbreviations or "lingo" that you don't understand, ask for clarification. If the recruiter says "we're NBSI in WHs and NRDS in LS" and that means nothing to you, explain that you want to be sure you understand what they're saying. A good starting point for abbreviations would be here but research abbreviations that are unfamiliar to you with your favorite search engine. (Thanks goes to Zendane for this tip)
Sadly, it seems Eve Uni have deleted the page about abbreviations. Simply the worst capsuleer there's ever been. |

I am however capable of doing my own research, I just want to know that if I have a question, someone will try to help me if they can. I'm in my mid-20s have plenty of time to play due to working from home so I have no problem meeting any requirements regarding online time and operations. Thank you for your interest"
Just one small addition, if you're advertising yourself make sure to add your timezone (this is something recruiters need to remember as well in their corp ads). Also add if there's any region you can't operate out of (this is unlikely for a new player unless you've really been hitting those storyline missions.)

Due to space restrictions i could not include this where i wanted to, but its not listed under more side tips, thank you
I would also like to thank everyone for their nice comments! I really appreciate it and I hope that someone have managed to find a corp they enjoy using some of the tips listed here
I would also like to abuse this chance to say that im still looking to expand the guide written for recruiters, so if someone in here has time to read over it and see if something is missing it would be much appreciated Phoibe Enterprises official recruitment thread The Eve Reader - -áAudio Recordings of Eve Chronicles

Just to add a bit more to this regarding corp size, set them up in your contact list so they show up in local then go to where they operate to see how many really log on.
This is particularly useful in mixed timezone corps where the bulk of the players may be on at a different time to you, and this can get real lonely.
If the corp doesn't say where they operate from (and the HQ isn't always a guide) then look them up on Eve Who to get some names of the members and use locator agents to check where they are based. You'll probably need to do a couple of names as it can be a bit hit and miss. If you are really new you will probably have to ask someone to do this for you until you can access Level 4 agents and do it for yourself. |

Another thing to watch out for is corps that are build based on RL friendships. Mainly cause people will take sides to help real life friends over being correct.
The same counts with joining a corporation that has been around for a long time, it's not unknown that longer relationships in a corp are valued above "the new guy". Want to have some chat in game? Need help to get into the game as a new player? Just join my channel: Crazy Dutch Guy |

This, this is lovely. I've recently joined and I'm looking to find a corps. I'm the type that can't get into a game until I find people I can enjoy speaking with or to ask questions when needed.
I now have a better understanding about what I need to look for and how I need to behave while doing so. |

awesome guide. definitely helps me think in the right direction.
i just joined BNI and it was super quick....the application process. after reading your guide i fear i might have made my decision too quickly. however, i think im going to try BNI...if im not mistaken i can just leave them when ever i want and join up with a new one. |

This is correct. You can leave a corp whenever you want to (still a bit unclear on the rules but seems that even if you have roles you can instantly drop to an NPC corp, but if you have roles you have to wait 24 hours after removing the roles before you can join another player corp).
There is no harm in having an NPC corp in your employment history, but some prefer a bit..cleaner look (especially if you just scroll down and see a long list of corporations in the history, and dont actually check what the corporations are, it can make a recruiter think you have been in more player corps then you actually have been in).
But keep in mind that every corp your in will be in your employment history permanently, and recruiters can use this to track where you have been and what you have done. Thats why you should consider the corporations you join carefully.
However, joining a corp like EVE uni, BNI, RVB and similar "training" corporations is not something that genrally will raise warning flags with recruiters.
Thank you for the nice comment and bump! Its appreciated
