3. If the recruiter uses abbreviations or "lingo" that you don't understand, ask for clarification. If the recruiter says "we're NBSI in WHs and NRDS in LS" and that means nothing to you, explain that you want to be sure you understand what they're saying. A good starting point for abbreviations would be here but research abbreviations that are unfamiliar to you with your favorite search engine. (Thanks goes to Zendane for this tip)

Sadly, it seems Eve Uni have deleted the page about abbreviations.

Now lets try to ad in something that tells the recruiter more about the person.

"I am a 2 mill SP Caldari player. I'm interested in exploring low sec or potentially 0.0 but i would appreciate some guidance since I am still new. I am however capable of doing my own research, I just want to know that if I have a question, someone will try to help me if they can. I'm in my mid-20s have plenty of time to play due to working from home so I have no problem meeting any requirements regarding online time and operations. Thank you for your interest"

Just one small addition, if you're advertising yourself make sure to add your timezone (this is something recruiters need to remember as well in their corp ads). Also add if there's any region you can't operate out of (this is unlikely for a new player unless you've really been hitting those storyline missions.)

seriously your extremely helpful. i dont think i have gotten this quality and sheer amount of help in any other game before. why cant there be more recruiters like your self out there (as im sure im a lil too green to join up with your corp), as you seem to be very helpful and i think most importantly...available.

now im not sure if a recruiter also does some training, but just being available is usually half the battle to become a trainer/recruiter, i would imagine.

even though im not in your corp, i feel a one on one connection with you, (see how there should be more of you) that im hoping i get with BNI when i start getting into it.

Giving this a bump as it's been a month. Why isn't this stickied by now? Absolutely one of the best newbie guides I have read.

I wish a tutorial agent had said "Now you have completed all the tutorials, you might want to read this guide about finding a player corporation to join"

...but of course they won't because the b*gg*rs want to keep you paying their high tax rate ! ;)

Keep in mind, new players, that members of the same corporation can shoot each other legally in all areas of space.

There's not much reason for people to do this to you (chances are you don't have anything worth going to that much effort to steal), but you can do it to others.

Look for a corp and keep in mind some of the OP's comments. Get into it, then pick the time to strike and burn/steal everything.

One blemish on your corp history is easily talked out of - just tell a future recruiter that you decided to leave because a corpmate started doing something abhorrent (making jokes about the Holocaust, or linking Justin Bieber videos in corp chat, or something vile like that) and you decided to shoot them and leave.

As a new player myself and currently looking for a corp that suits me well (and vice versa), this is surely the "Post of Enlightement". Thank you for everyone involved in making this great guide. A bump it needs ? A bump it will surely get!
