Quote: Edited by: XARiUS on 07/08/2003 16:36:21 I've sat back and read so SO many hundreds of these "CCP sucks" or "the devs suck' threads, and I can't take it any longer.

Most of you are showing your blatant ignorance by saying CCP is doing a horrible job, or that the devs suck and can't fix anything. If any of you had ever come CLOSE to working on a project this size, then you would understand what everyone is going through. Programming is not clicking the f'ing "Fix Bug" button, it takes a lot of time, and a *LOT* of testing and re-testing.
Unfortunately in CCP's case, most all of the whiners are riding CCP's coattails and forcing them to release patches which probably haven't been tested quite as much as they should have been, simply in an attempt to shut everyone up. It's an old trick in the software industry, even if you haven't fixed it yet, give them something so they shut up or at least whine about something else.
No one should be expected to work 24/7. So just because you get stuck in a station, or a stargate, try WAITING until they fix it instead of being a f'n moron and docking right back at the same station. You'll save yourself and a lot of other people a lot of headaches.
Take a reality check people, projects of this size take time. Lots and lots of time, so grab a coke, have a drink, smoke a bowl, whatever, and just chill the F out and have fun playing the game. I've been playing since almost day one, and have yet to find something that really drives me up the wall, except threads like this.

Rubbish- we all know it takes time, but its time that shouldnt be at the expense of gamesplayers.
If the game isnt ready then dont release it, and if you have to release it at least dont charge the players a premium price, lower it to reflect the unfinished state of the game.
I love playing EVE- but the game is bugged and is highly unstable (deleting files from a cache folder is not a fix, its a workaround- CCP need to realise this!)- how on earth can you defend this?
Its people just sitting back and accepting poor quality software masquerading as finished product that has resulted in games manufacturers realising they CAN realise bugged code and because of the Internet fix problems at their leisure.
Hell if more people DID *****, moan, complain and eventually vote with their wallets, then maybe, just maybe the software companies would get the message.
Yes, developing a game of this magnitude is hard- but hey these guys are pro's, its their job and they presumably dont work for peanuts- so why the sympathy and excuses on their behalf?
