1) Final Fantasy 7 - Oh good god that game was good. One day I hope to crashland my eve-ship on the planet that final fantasy 7 was set! 2) Morrowind - *gets off ship* *gets lost* *amazed* 3) NWN - Really for the DM mode where u could randomly drop epic sized dragons/demons into a room with some low level friends and watch them die. muahaha --------------

1) MegaTraveller 2: Quest for The Ancients, google it, old game but it was way ahead of its time and was the first space game with loadable mods/upgrades for your ship.
2) NWN good stable design..
3) dungeon siege, stupid but fun

1. Sentinal Worlds: My first computer game ever. I remember getting many a nubbin crew killed as I boarded a crippled raider ship and got butchered. (c'mon guys, you're in a narrow hallway armed with a shotgun, how can you miss everytime?) I'm rather surprised that Future magic never got sued over thier crew images, however; it was nice having Ellen Ripley and the Terminator as my navigator and engineer.
2. Shining in the Darkness: Amazing game. Especially at the time, a FPS style RPG with brilliant visuals and personallity. I remember running out and trading my SNES for a gensis when i tried the game at a freinds house.
3. X-com: UFO defense: Caught it late on the PS1, but it;s hooked me hard. Amazing game with depth that still runs deeper than most games made today.
Honorable mentions Final Fantasy Tactics: Summoners, Blackmages, and Dragoons oh my! Superb game for gameplay, art, and design. Shame the chars didn't translate into FFXI better. Summoner gimpage 4TL.
Wizardry 1: c'mon, can't even contest this one.
Dragon realms: elfs and dwarfs in text based goodness. A game where RP was enforced, not encouraged.
Fed universe on AOL: spiritual precurser to eve in many ways. Also text based. Ah the wee babe days of the internet.

1. FF7 Have to join the majority on this one.. the game is just.. perfect. Everything is where it should be.. well they could have made ol' Sep playable a bit
2. Morrowind + addons + mods It's incredible what the internet community can do to better a (already good) game. There are mods out there that range from simple items to a complete new world and story.. scary
3. Deus Ex I really really liked this game. Another game that got most things 'right'

Hehehe, for a non-Star Wars game, it sure had a Star Wars feel when I come to think of it. Never realised it until now

1) Fallout 2. = gives the word "RPG" a whole new dimension (hey, I was a female married homosexual that had the fame of digging graves and visiting bordellos. Can't get much more role-playing than that...) 2) Elder scrolls 3:Morrowind. Made me regret for missing out on the earliers ones. I could put baldurs gate 1 here very easily. 3) Planescape: Torment. A truly deep rpg, not for the faint-hearted. It could be much better though
Omg, left wizardry and other classics out, but I guess the ones that come off the top of my head are my favorite nes :/
Some notes that I usually make on some of the games listed here: a) Arcanum: Could be amazng, sadly, it seems it's production was stopped midways. Classic problem with rpg's probably running out of funds or some EA-like publisher whips them (that's why I admire Oblivion and it's delayed publishing. It won't be ready=it's not coming out till we say so). b)Dungeon Siege/diablo/deus ex/fable: I thought we said RPG here. Having characters with levels doesn't count for it. Those style of games massively lack the "Character" part, and one could only go as far as calling them action-rpg's. This is a totally different type of games. Linear doesn't go with "RPG". FF series: Seriously, doesn't all that "whooo, zoom-in/combat" put you off? NWN: unfortunatelly, this much-expected game turned too much towards plain action. Not RPG in every aspect.

That would be exactly my list as well, in exactly that order
Planescape: Torment was amazing. So different from the usual Fantasy clichÚs, and with a mind-blowing storyline that I have yet to find elsewhere. Inappropriate signature graphic removed -Zhuge
