Hey,
Does the "Fuel Conservation" (Improved control over afterburner energy consumption. 10% reduction in afterburner capacitor needs.) skill affect MicroWarpDrives? And if not, is there any skill I can level to decrease the MWD's cap usage?

Taking a wild stab in the dark here buuuuuuuut, could It be actually the primary skill of the MWD? 
high speed maneuvering

What about warp drive operation? Does anyone know if that affects the cap usage? It seems more logical than afterburner, but I'm not sure. I have both skills at 4 and don't want to take WDO to 5 to test this. I fly a thorax mostly, and in that it barely scratches the cap.

Warp drive operation reduces the amount of cap you need to warp. The name 'microwarp drive' would make people believe that this skill modifies them, but it actually doesn't.

Dang, if that's how you stab in the dark ... NOBODY DARE TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS!! 
Seriously, the only skill that affects MWD's cap usage is high speed maneuvering so the only direct way to reduce it is to train that up. Another way for you to mitigate it is to work on your cap skills, which have indirect but tangible benefits.

Also, 3-5% cap reduction on MWD hardwiring implants aren't that hard to come by, for a bit of a boost.
