Hi All, I have applied to a well known established corp and am totally new to the game. I dont want to embarrass them incase the delay for a reply isn't normal but don't want to appear that im not bothered about the application. Obviously you cant give me an exact answer, but when you started, in your experience, did you have to wait long for a reply? |

If you don't contact me before sending an app, I press reject. I don't know if that is what you did, or if you had prior contact. But if you're entirely new, and just send an app out of the blue, it can take forever and a day before you're rejected. |

yup I looked up established corps and thought a longstanding one everyone knows about would be the most trustworthy and would be most helpful and recognise noobs etiquette mistakes. yup, when I saw there was an apply ingame, that's what i did. I have to stress I didn't just send blank- I put a message with it. |

Most corps have a recruitment officer you need to contact before you apply. Especially when applying to a bigger or well known corp. Look it up in the description of the corp. There will probably also be a recruitment chat channel where you need to logg into and chat with the recruitment officer(s). Also most bigger corps will ask you for a api key (which is found in the support part of the sitte) so they might do a check up on your pilot.
So, check up on the corp if they have special requirements you need to do first, before just applying to them. You might wait for a lifetime to get an ansnwer if you don`t follow the rules of the corps recruitement. |

that's great. being new is not fun. I have heard eve amongst all games is a vicious unforgiving game at times so I want to make sure I join the right corporation so a big one sounds more trustworthy as one would EXPECT in real life and is mostly the case......(despite this i have seen it pays to always check facts. I have learnt don't just accept a shiny badge as truth..setups, conspiracy theorys, its all out there and discredits and masks-helps to meet the person before snap judgements...so yup id definitely like to make the right choice about corporation, and you are right that's what recruitment officers are there for..)
