i was running 5 beams, 1600mm plating, medium armor repair and AB. sadly it didnt work for my first lv3 kill mission. i lasted long enough, but i didn't seem to do all that much armor damage to the NPC or they had way too much armor for me to take down. is it possible to do all lv3 kill missions in a properly set up maller? tips suggested.

I can do all lvl 3's in my Maller.
My setup is: High:5xFocused Pulse, 1xMed nos. Med: AB, Web and cap rechargers. Low: 1 Med repper, 3x Hardners (Depending on rats) and even more cap relays. You could fit a small armor repper also.
The trick here is to get in close and rip them apart with Multi frequency's, or X-ray's for better cap conservation. Only problem I have, are the Republic Fleet Stabbers.. Pulse have a hard time reaching 30km, but then I switch to Focused Beams and drop the Nos.

I think u had some tracking problems because i use 5x medium beams T2 with multi ( yeah, small sized!! ), and i killed any cruiser with no problem at all. With the powercore i saved using small turrets i fitted a large peroxide battery that boosts my cap recharging. This way i can use 2 reps and 3 hardeners. Also a plate instead of a CPR is fine but dont remember that plate i used ( dont remember if was a T1 1600mm or T2 800mm), and anyway much dephends on your skills.
If u will stick with med sized guns i suggest u to fit pulses instead of beams

For Lvl3s in a Maller I use:
hi: 5 Med Pulse II (swap between mf and radio, in case you get webbed by a ship outside the mf range), 1 med nos mid: AB II, web, named cap recharger lo: med armor rep II, 2 cap relays, energized adaptive nano II, heatsink II and 1600mm nanofiber.
Works fine, and you don't have to swap out for rat specific armor hardeners. I think it's basically the 'duramaller' setup.

theres no way i could run all that because of the powergrid requirements. with all that equipment except the 1600MM, im at 1010/1062 in my powergrid. no way i could fit a 1600MM plate that is an additional 500 in power. i also have engineering at lv5. how is fitting all this in a maller possible?

The Med Pulse II are small guns , makes it a lot easier to fit a strong tank.
Heavy pulse are the medium size guns.

Edited by: Praenor on 02/12/2005 02:53:54 Duramaller works well:
H: 5x Medium Pulse Lasers (t2 or good named) -- these are the FRIGATE sized guns. Med smartbomb (or possibly nos when using 3 hardeners) M: 10mn Afterburner Large cap battery (peroxide strongly preferred) Good cap recharger (f-b10 or eutetic) S: Medium t2 armor rep, 2 or 3 hardeners, cprs
This should do level3's without much difficulty. |

Praenor, Could I switch the Pulse Lasers to medium beam T2, and change cap recharger to a webber, but keep the rest of the configuration? /SWE WolfPack

Hello! I was running 5 anode particle stream1's a NOS in High slots, named ab and two named cap rechargers in med, med armor rep, 1600 tung plate, 3 hardners. That worked great, was able to pop 110k rats w/o problems, mostly used multi freq crystals, Don't know how well in lvl 3's but I'm sure that if it could take .2 rats and solo lvl 3 plexes w/o troubles it would work for lvl 3 missions. I lost it though trying a 5/10 plex. Expensive, but well worth it
