Did they forget to apply the hotfix during downtime or is this a hot fix for the applied hotfix ??

yeah hotfix is some very small patching that doesnt have a patch note to improve the game if problems bugs pop up (it is server side patching not client updates) and hence aimed more at stability and less lag - usually jsut a fwe server side stats or something and not data or content changes

We applied a hotfix to the inventory system at downtime. The hotfix did not work as intended, leaving many players stuck.
We are working on fixing the stuck players and either rollbacking the hotfix or apply a hotfix to the hotfix.

They will apply a cold fix to the hot fix so it becomes as working and playable medium fix. Sound like drugs now. Ignore.

Always makes me laugh when they have to hotfix a hotfix.

FYI never take Tuesdays off if CCP are doing any maintenance or extended DT's its usually a Tuesday

ok so what in the inventory system needed hotfixing (can u give us some basic information without creating any exploits etc) im guessing by inventory u mean assets and sorting of assets and the search featire as well - there was a smallish bug where if u clicked galaxy wide assets at all stations taht stations would show twice (the same one on the list)
Anyway as long as the hotfix before the reboot works.

I personally controlled testing of this hotfix, it worked fine on our in-house test servers, however, something with the clustered setup of TQ has made it fail.
The inventory system is a fragile part of EVE, since everything is an item and goes through this system.

Hmm..i know CCP is doing its best to Fix the issues of Eve , but a lil whine if i could...Why when ever there is a Hotfix or a restart GM's pop in 3 mins before Downtime and Demand everyone logs off for downtime..i didnt even get the chance to dock.also next time dont say The server is coming down in 5 minutes ( 2 mins) for a restart please make sure your at a safe area...restart in my world means just that a Restart not a unscheduled hotfix that may take hours to restart the server with....im left sitting at my computer trying to work out if restart means 5 mins, 10 mins 30 mins , 90mins 2 days....etc etc.....
