Ortu Konsinni	Posted - 2005.11.15 20:39:00 - [1] There is something that many people seem to agree they would like to see: a comprehensive, centralized collection of organized screenshots of all ships that a normal player can be seen flying in EVE. The idea of making the web site myself sparked in my mind today when someone said they'd been "meaning to" make this site themselves. I figured it wouldn't take too long to get the web site started, so I went to Jita IV - M4 - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant and started taking screenshots of everything. I think I've assembled a nice collection of ships already, but there are still a lot missing because I got tired after a couple of hours of staring at a station and clicking on every passing ship looking for something I didn't have yet. Plus yesterday I was lucky enough to see an Impoc (it was on Singularity, but whatever, it's still the same ship), so at least I have one really rare ship in my collection. Anyway, here's the result of ~3 hours of work: the EVE Player Ship Gallery Hopefully it hasn't been done before in this form and I didn't waste my time, but it's not like I had anything better to do today. Although I did spot a group of probable macrominers, which I promptly reported, so it wasn't a complete waste of time anyway. If such is the case, let me know. And this is where I ask for a little bit of help. If you own any of these ships and would be kind enough to take decent quality screenshots of them and send them to me, it would be great and I could add them to the gallery. Please evemail me if you'd like to help and I'll give you my e-mail or FTP address so you can send me your files. If you're wondering what "decent quality" means, look at my full size images on the web site and it should give you a good idea of what I'm looking for. If you want some figures, my screenshots are in 1280x960 resolution with 2x anti-aliasing. The shots can be in station or in space -- it doesn't matter, but do take care to press CTRL+TAB to remove the EVE interface first (I know I forgot to do it myself in some shots -- sue me ). Also take care of having good lighting conditions like on the majority of my shots. My pic of the Griffin sucks because it's in the shadow of a station, for example, but I will get another, better one soon. There are a number of other ships missing that aren't on the list above, but they're fairly common ships (T1 frigs, a couple of cruisers, the Cyclone and Typhoon, et alii), or ships that I didn't see today in Jita but which I own myself, so I will add them when I can get a good screenshot of them, i.e. soon -- and I do mean "soon --- Ortu Konsinni Diplomatic delegate French Force Alliance -- l'alliance des francophones Web site : http://destabiliser.com/ffa/

Thanks for the links to the Magnate ships, I was gonna look for them later. The big danger of trying to host all the images yourself, is that your web hosting gets spammed to death. Perhaps ppl could upload images to the Official Screenie Site and post a link? Maybe if we're lucky, a friendly mod will link the pics to the ship setups thread. Here's a few for starters... I have 50 GB monthly on my host, I don't think I'll reach that amount of traffic so easily, but thanks for the warning. I'll watch my stats and pull the plug and find a workaround if I must. The images on his site, in relation to the quality, quantity, size, ease of navigation, bandwith, etc are lightyears ahead of anything else I can find else where on the net for eve. Ortu Konsinni	Posted - 2005.12.06 09:40:00 - [30] Well, I'm open to suggestions, although I don't see how my images could be better, given the conditions under which I usually have to take screenshots, i.e. fast and as best I can with subjects who're unaware they're being photographed while in transit between their warp exit point and a station or stargate.
