Has anyone got a recommendation for a good loot-fetcher?
For L1-L3, I've used a collection of Imicuses (Imicii?) to good effect.
For L4 missions (esp for drones) there are so many cans, and such volume, that the Imicus spends all it's time hauling back to the station. Or I wind up doing 2-stage hauling (use the frig to load to a few J-cans, then an indy to fetch the cans), which is not much faster. I also tried using an Iteron IV to collect, but even with nanofibres it's slow.
Any better ideas? [I fly gallente, in case you missed that!]

if u can fly transport ships then obviously go for viator - if not then maybe try an exequeror - its got a pretty good size cargo bay.
IT4 with nanos and a 10mn ab is prob your best bet tho.

Sigil is a great looter, with lowslots full of nanos and an ABII it almost handles like a frig.

Exequeror? 600m/3 base cargo space plus 10% per cruiser level and 3 low slots for nanos.

I just use a Badger II. Put 3 named overdrive injectors on it along with a tech II afterburner and it will hit well over 700 m/s. Works perfectly for the job.

Badger II with 2 nanno's & one over drive, fancy burner + whatever
The difference is it stops on a dime and you don't waste time overshooting cans and having to circle around.

Sigil, with 5x nanos + abII.
Plenty of cargo space, great speed, great handling, minimal skill training. _________
It is with a heavy heart that I wander into the kitchen and begin rifling through the knife drawer.

I recommend against picking up the loot; if you can fly lvl 4's, you make a hell of a lot more money running the missions than you ever will wasting time looting cargo.
Not to mention you earn more loyalty points too.

If i had followed that advice, i wouldnt have found a good set of 18% cap rechargers or carbide 425mms would i? Not to mention alot of free minerals that can be sold or used to build more ships= isks

No - but that's not the point...
If you refrain from picking up non-BS loot, you might make more money (LP is also money), than if you always pick up everything.
btw - are 18% cap recharges and some 425 carbide really worth anything?

Only practical if you have two accounts; send your alt in after you as soon as you've cleared a level, in a fast indy (yes, a sigil works fine).
Or get a friend to do it for a cut of the proceeds.
Either way, he doesn't have to be much good at combat, because deadspace rats don't usually respawn, and open-space mission ones never do.
Either idea is especially important if you are some distance from base or it's a really long mission; I recently did a mission where the only loot I managed to get was from the last stage, as the rest of the cans popped before I got to them.
Just my 0.02 isk.

i recomend either using a m8 to loot while u get the next mission. but if not then an Iteron V with 4 overdrives and 1 good expander AB works like a charm

i do it with my alt in a crane (~750ms with ab2) - its realy nice to loot with a fast ship then a slow missile BS, and you never have enough space because of the missiles.
Cheers, Tresh

An other vote for the Sigil ... extremely easy to train (amaar indy lvl1) , enough cargo and by now I go over 1km/sec in it with "normal" named and tech2 equipment.
and yeah, its quite a cute "bug" as well

Why fit overdrives?
You want agility and not stright line speed.
Sigil and namofibers ftw.

Another vote for Sigil.
Just don't fit better nano's or ab so your speed is about max 950 m/s. Otherwise you'll spend more time because of overshooting the cans.

Another for the sigil.
Just fit it with bog standard Nanofibers and Normal tech I Afterburner and it turns and accelerates like a frig, and goes 689m/s which is ideal.
Also even with my nooby skills for the industrial (lvl 1 i think)I can still carry all my mission loot in it. There is nothing better for the job.

Edited by: Nev Clavain on 17/11/2005 17:50:54 use an imicus or a probe - i know you said thats what you use but it holds enough unless you wanna pick up basic items or cap boosters (which take up silly mount of room)
those little cargo frigs are perfect - and with expanders they can cary enough loot as long as you are prepared to jetcan the ammo and cap boosters you pick up
They handle beuatifully so even if you go 1000 m/s with mwd you dont bounce too far from the can

i also recomend fitting a scanner to the ship you collect loot with. quickly scan the can you want and see whather it is really worth going or not

Eh, Rogue Drone Harrassment IV usually isn't worth looting anymore when you take the time it requires into account. But Infiltrated Outpost is almost as good for looting as Rogue Drone Harrassment was pre-nerf.
