Well what is there to counter? How exactly are they bothering you? At this point I'd normally ask which mechanic are they using, but I really can't be bothered. It's local that's showing them and causing you problems. So you do have options. 1. Stop using it. 2. Stop misreading the instant intel it's giving. 3. Understand that you live in null and be prepared for PvP all the time. 4. Understand that just as you use local to help you, others will try and use it against you.

Endeavour Starfleet wrote:Issue is you have a place where you don't show up in local. Your problem has already been fixed. Not going into wormhole space to experience your no local PVP leads me to believe you want free big ganks in my opinion.
Also I don't want combat probes to be able to uncloak an active player. One of the primary goals of my proposed system was to not punish those who are active at their clients while cloaked. It was that discussion that I confirmed my suspicion that going AFK while cloaked is just as effective and used in wormholes as it is anywhere else. Shooting down that argument that "I afk cloak to defeat local" What utter rubbish. Your idea was bad, as is your take on the mechanics at work and why AFKing evolved into what it is today. Your idea thread simply dead the death it deserved and was shown to affect active players as much as those AFK.

Kijo Rikki wrote:Honestly, trying to use the argument that CCP went after AFK miners as a wedge to attack AFK cloaking is a weak one. CCP doesn't want ISK entering the game economy without any effort on the players part, for obvious reasons. I doubt they are worried about a player who generates 0 isk while afk and only presents a perceived threat to other people who want completely risk free isk.
You will not win this argument. As long as they think it links with their conceptions of being AFK, they will continue to use the argument. But this only show just how weak their stance is to begin with.

Your a snapshot and poster child for this heart of weakness And yet it's you asking mommy (ccp) to help you while I spend my time figuring things out for myself. THAT what you are doing is weakness sir. Good day! I was probably out killing commies for mommy while your mommy was still changing your yellow shat filled diapers. People have given numerous and valid concerns when it comes to afk cloaking to which all you can say is change is a weakness. As is there is no viable counter to the cloaker afk or not regardless of the tripe counters you have offered or tools you say. Again its everyone has to play your way BS. ItGÇÖs a big enough concern to generate vast replies and post on the subject. So all these people are weak? You sir are pathetic. Of course there are counters to those AFK and cloaked. But let's be honest here, it's not those AFK ones you wish to nerf, it's the active ones. But even then you have counters, so we return to there being no problem.

The fix is simple, balanced and fair: make cloaks use fuel. Doesn't have to be a lot of fuel. It's just going to run out sometime and if you want to do it for extended periods, you're going to need to go get some more. What are you trying to fix here? Why is this balanced and fair? Why shouldn't people be allowed to go AFK for extended periods? Would you also suggest a station or POS, kicks a player out after a certain time AFK? Why should covert ops pilots be nerfed, because others cannot handle the fact local isn't providing 100% perfect and easy to read instant intel?

I have several random Titans and supercaps bookmarked that I could wait to just go flying out of the pos shields. I agree the lolz would be epic.

I think the word "counter" has a very specific meaning that you're not understanding here. He may not have mentioned a direct counter. But just because you don't like the current direct counters, doesn't mean they don't exist.

FYI your replies to the question where so inane I thought you were trolling Of course it's free intel. If this idea is in place and you keep pressing the button, they know you are at the keyboard. That's free intel. If you forget and decloak, they can find you. That's also free intel.
Why should you get even more intel, on top of the already powerful local intel tool?

(within the EULA) I guess for the same reason a person should be able to be cloaked up while sleeping in bed forcing others to adapt to their presence in system. Prey tell how does someone AFK cloaked in bed asleep, force you to do anything? Isn't it merely prudent to take precautions with an enemy in the system? you are after all in null. What relevance does them being AFK have to taking those steps?

Are you French perchance? Is this where the grammer and spelling trolling starts until you get the thread locked because you dont like the subject and have no valid reason to allow afk cloaking? It only arose due to a personal attack. It's just funny and ironic to highlight such things in those circumstances.

What relevance does them being AFK have to taking those steps? People have stated their case and made valid points, your refusal to acknowledge those points doesnGÇÖt make them any less valid. I am done here I donGÇÖt have the time or desire to continue to argue with the internet forum idiots. Akf cloaking is BS and should be changed just like afk ice mining was changed, (which had a 30 min cycle time as well even) We don't refuse to accept any arguments, we simply want you to answer questions with facts and not feelings.
But I guess it's best you leave now. When someone resorts to personal attacks, then they obviously don't really have a valid argument to begin with.

Well said Most of these "discussions" boil down to fact/evidence based thinkers vs emotional/feeling/perception based thinkers. The emotional types tend to think that how they "feel" is how everyone should feel and that if you don't there is something wrong with you or you have an agenda. The emotional types (which is what most of the "brilliant idea" people are) tend to be really selfish and can't see beyond their own immediate needs. So when someone like me (a target rather than a cloaker) tells them they are going about it all wrong they consider us traitors in a sense. Like when i posted disagreeing with Local blinking in null sec (something that I very much benefit from) some people were like "dude, do you WANT someone to blow up your Machariel".. To which i answered "no, of course not, but the truth is null sec isn't about safety and comfort". They just can't process how anyone could think like me. I can't process that level of seflishness and lazyness in a video game lol. Indeed. The thing is as you have pointed out, local intel has been boosted of late. If you place this in the context of how well local intel works in null, one could argue it's safer than high sec.
