I heard if you quit the game they will delete your account 3 months later. Is there any truth to it?

not that fast, belive i had a 7months break 2003-2004 and my guy was still alive when i got back :P

They have stated that up to now no ones character has been deleted. Indeed I have heard of folk being away for 18 months and resuming with the samne character on their return.

Odd, I got corpsmate's character deleted. He hasn't played Eve in a long time... the other's said he didn't cancel his account.

Maybe he forgot his login/pass or something because so far no account has ever been deleted, and that even includes trail accounts.

CCP garuntee to keep any paid account for 6 months, though because the characters take up such a tiny tiny amount of space on their storage they haven't ever deleted a character in the whole time EVE has been live, well, unless the character/account was breaking the EULA.
So if you leave the game for a few months, you will have your character waiting when you get back, unless you did something bad against the EULA before you left and CCP decided it was best if you didn't come back..

Although I'm new to EVE, my friend who first told me about it recently came back after he realized I had subscribed.
He was away for about (over?) two years and called just to tell me how shocked he was that his character (with all alts) was still there!

Characters are guaranteed for 6 months after that it's pot luck when they go to the great big dustbin in the sky.
