Edited by: Sentani on 18/11/2005 09:04:51 ive been thinking about this...
DED travels thru the chokepoint and other hiigh-kill areas that are inside empire...
like once a week or more... at random times... depends in sec status...
and attack people that have killed in the last (lets say) 2 days...
they dont warp scrambel so you can run away...
should make camping 0.4 systems abit harder...
um and the DED are NPC... event actors would be a waste of time... ____________ The cargo bay is overloaded and cannot be made to fit Expanded Cargohold I. It is currently only capable of fitting 8772.12 units and it is currently jammed full with 9558.33 units. |

I don't think ccp want to make it harder to gatecamp, if something needs to be done they will make it easier for players to do something about it. That is more the spirit of Eve-online.

What CCP could try to do is make the sentries anti-battleship guns so pirates could camp and tank them in frigates, but battleship would get blow away.
The problem is that pirates already are better at PvP then most of the people passing those systems and then they can also do it in the biggest ships as well.
Carebears trying to break up a camp simply never have a chance other then with several times the campers' number.
Who put those rats in the fridge?! |

thats why newbies should always get PVP training - cloakers warp stabs and so forth

What I think would definately be interesting is if CONCORD expanded their area of patrols once in a while... the security of some systems being raised or some such... this just makes sense to me. Yeah I know my sig sucks. I'll get a cooler one in here someday.
I blame Tornsoul. |

It might be interesting if the converse were also true, i.e. a .5 or .6 will drop to a .4 for a short time, at random intervals.

Yea there's needs to be more of a randoness and more of a reacting CONCORDOKEN, say when there is a player pirate camp in a low sec system for a few hours then they must obviuoly get the reports about loadsa pilots getting killed. So they head to the system to secure it.
Of course then they have to drop good loot aswell _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- "It is better to die on our feet than live on our knees"

Concord doesn't care about agression outside of their mandate area. Their mandate area is high sec space. Concord doesn't even care if you fight there, as long as you inform them beforehand...
Wether or not concord patrols into low sec are logical or make sense storyline wise is totally irrelevant. Storylines and rp logic are their to serve the game, NOT the other way around.
Now, in the interest of diversity and unpredictability of life on the edges of empire it would certainly have some gameplay value to send concord into low sec once in a while. But putting any credence on claims that it would affect actual security for players is way overboard. NPC's are dead easy to circumvent or fool, and that is exactly what will happen. _______________________________________________

my idea would be hot spots after 1 hour ie 10-20 pirate kills in one system would get the concord jumping in to patrol for 1 hour thereafter (this could apply to all low sec) this would mean however even if pirates are nearby they dont shoot them unless they aggress further - this would also work on choke points meaning if pirates are active in one area for an hour concord comes along they are forced to move adding randomness to low sec gank camps

concord is currently too uber to visit low sec space ^^ It could be a good idea to have indeed patrols in areas where a lot of pilots got killed in the last 24 hours, but concord is really too badass ;p
Dear friendly customer... Can I have your money ?

DED coming to patroll the areas with a very lareg amoutn of podkills would eb a pretty good idea. It even mentions in DEDs corp description that they sometimes patroll low sec. And they wouldn't eb too uber, the pirates would have the same chance pf escaping as all thos epeople in haulers and noobieships they gank all day long to increase the size of theri E-peen. Maybe you could leave out their -100% faction webbers tho..
