Hi,
I recently moved here from SWG and was wondering how many other made the switch after the NGE hit...
I was on Starsider and my IGN was...(surprise, surprise) Kefra.
Basically Eve offers everything that SWG lost and then some. In fact I wish pre NGE SWG should have been more like Eve.

As for the length, it was quite fine for me. Of course, I'm the one who was curious, so I'd hope I'd want to hear it.
Thanks though. It's all clear now. Man, I feel for you dudes. Welcome to Eve.
Yes, but what really mistifies me is how they can even think the 1992 Catle Wolfenstein feel is good.
I always admired atheists. I think it takes a lot of faith. |

Somehow I think that you will find something here to make up for it.
After only a couple of days here I sense that this is a much better run mmorpg. I tried to logon at 12:00 Eve Time and the server was up and not loading.
Also the leveling system is actually quite smart from a business standpoint, but at the same time user friendly. I will not miss spinning lairs to level up.

It seem so be over. Whenever I look into the Galaxy forum about 10 people I knew or knew of are quitting. Sad.

Edit: and welcome to all SWG refugees
NGE = New Game Enhancements.
To be honest, I am glad it is over. I somehow accepted the non-responsive Customer service, lack of information regarding major changes and hardline attitude from SOE, but enough is enough.
I felt positivly wierd when I submitted a question to the eve helpdesk and recieved not only a response the next day but a questionare regarding my opinion of the CCP performance regarding my matter.
SOE could really watch and learn...

Thats Pink Pigs mate. Pink Elephants are seen by Alcoholics
Welcome to my fellow SWG Refugees... No One from Euro-Infinity Yet :( So who is setting up the first Galaxies Corp then ? :P
Pink, flying,.. whatever dude. CS from SOE is downright hostile and getting worse.
A Galaxies Corp... In selling Pikets and some really good Polysteel Copper....

Looks like Exiles Corp is doing well.
The strangest thing for me is the actual interaction between the dev team, moderators and playerbase.
Questions like "When will RMR be released?" are actually responded too. Maybe not with a day, but they recieve notice.
This helps keep everyone civil.

Im thinking about leaving SWG to start playing Eve to replace my SWG time. What really stands out that would make me make the final jump away from SWG. I like this game so far but I cant find a concreat reason cut loose from SWG just yet. Share your thoughts.
(sorry Kefra not trying to hijack your thread just trying to finalize a game move :) )
Thanks all.
Dont, worry about hijacking the thread. This is a thread for all swg players who left or are considering moving due to the nge. I did not think it was still active.
I think Bermag in post 461 sums it up nicely, even for a more combat oriented toon as I was.
Other than that, I think CCP has implemented many good ideas and made a very good game while maintaining a good rapport with their customers. Something SOE has not.

Nice to see everyone, I hope I enjoy this as much as I enjoyed SWG before the crap Sony pulled.
I remember you. you had a city on Lok and an alt all dressed in white. He was the first person I ever put on add ignore (until I discovered that you could block out afk players in spatial). You offerd to let me put stuff on your vendors to sell, but I ended up doing alright selling from the bazaar.

OMG, I made a big thread!!!
After reading the producer letters I had to laugh. It is sad how SOE treats their customers. They lack any kind of credibility and yet they still do business. Julio Torres and John Smedley should both be fired. CCP make them look like they dont know what they are doing.

Yeah, I remember making it. I saw at work that my account had been activated. Later I transfered all my isk and stuff to this char from my trial account. Then I made the thread.
Now I have 2.3 million skill points and fly a battleship (which I really cant fly, but its safe for missions). I have lost ships in low sec and got away a couple of times too. I even lived in a 0.4 system for a while running missions, not losing one ship.
I have had someone tell me my ship setup was insane asking me if i liked dying? I had thought I was doing well until I changed my setup to a suggested one. Now I smile at how I had fought my way through all those missions with that insane setup.
I almost lost my battleship posting this. I have offered everyone I met in my corp a copy of the Pax Amarria (I currently have over a thousand). Did you know the M. in M. Corp stands for Minmatar? They dont want a copy of the Pax Amarria.
Now I want a Assault Frigate (something my skill poits will allow me to fly effectively) and at some point I will want to learn to PVP. Something I never really did in SWG.

Originally by: Wrayeth Actually, Smed and Torres make themselves look like they don't know what they're doing.
Stacking them up against CCP devs just puts the nail in the coffin.
Yes, well put. I just keep shaking my head when I see how they run the business. I wonder how it will turn out long term. I believe it will be mentioned as a major gaffe in game design and implementation, but both of them will get off relatively unscathed.

You want to burn a book that has the phone numbers of all the hot redheads in Eve in it?
In the copy I will escrow to you (only 39 jumps away from your current location) they only cost 3.99 isk per minute.
