Edited by: Xarkon on 16/02/2006 19:32:01 I'm from SWG. I will _NEVER_ go back. Ugh! SWG was my very first graphic online game and it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth over MMORPG's in general. I played SWG for about 1 year or so. Due to kids and family and work, I didn't get to play as hard-core as I would have liked and I only got a level 30-something Jedi by the time the NGE F'd everything up (was about 2/3's done with an Aurillia Jedi). I sold the account to some guy in England for $2.12. Hahaha! Actually, I take that back. I did play Ultima Onlina on a player run shard from Russia. Was a blast! I was almost tempted to keep playing SWG just for the Jump to Lightspeed, but I found about Eve Online and Star War Galaxies was history. On SWG, I mostly enjoyed playing the crafting professions - finding good resources, crafting quality items, underselling everyone on the bazaar and making bank by doing it. Thus, my eager anticipation of playing Eve. Although, I had heard about Eve before the NGE, I stuck with SWG out of emotional attachment to the Star Wars universe. Deep down, though, my emotions are based in space sci-fi, thus my allure to Star Wars and preference for Jump to Lightspeed. I took some astronomy courses in college (some of the best classes I ever took), and, let me tell you, for being a game, Eve gets bloody close to the real thing. Very cool. Eve seems to fit my current life requirements soooooooooooo so so so so much better. I can play with my 1yr old son for 30 minutes. Glance up at Eve for 5 minutes, check the market, make a purchase, set autopilot to sell point and go back to playing with my son. When my son goes to sleep or takes a nap, I can run an agent mission or two. At the end of the day, I am a very happy Eve player, looking forward to doing it all again tomorrow. On top of it all, I set a skill to train, go out on a date with my wife, wake up the next day to a new "level" I've gained on Eve. It all works just too perfect. With SWG, I had to decide which buff (pre-NGE) and/or food was needed for the MOB I was going to hunt, find somewhere to get it, then focus 90% on the game so I could get maximum usage out of that buff. That usually occupied 3-4 hours straight of SWG time. Bleh! What a crock. With Eve, I've watched the superbowl, paid bills, sold eBay, played hide-and-seek with my son, had sex with my wife, filed my taxes, read a book, watched japanimation, had family dinner, rented videos, went grocery shopping, shoveled snow, had sex (did I already mention that? haha! ) all while still "playing" Eve. Yea, Eve is gonna have me hooked for a long time to come. SWG? What was that game about? *snicker*
