Hi
Some tossers have declared war on us... we're a peaceful mining/trading corp with many new members and have no interest in taking these war-mongers on as we will undoubtedly lose so don't even want to give them the pleasure of podding us - although how much pleasure can be gained by someone in the Megathron blowing up a newbie in a frigate I'm not sure - bet they feel like REAL MEN for that!
So... there's a surrender button... but WHAT DOES IT DO? What will happen if we surrender? What are the implications?
Thanks

I've never used it, but from reading what others have said:
the Surrender button doesn't do anything at all - ie. you're not allowed to use it - unless you are docked with the CEO of the enemy corp (executor of enemy alliance?)
Clicking it opens a trade-style window, into which you offer the enemy CEO whatever you're paying him to call off the war. If he doesn't accept the "trade", then you haven't surrendered and the war goes on.
Obviously, this means you can't surrender if your enemy just wants to carry on killing you.

Baldour is correct. The only way of surrendering without the enemies approval is by leaving and/or closing your corp. ------------------

Just dock and play with alts in newbie corps or something until they go away. If you don't provide sport, they'll get bored and go do something else most likely.

Dunno, but i think the war with SA and F-E was mutual. And SA has since "retracted" the war. No surrender terms were agreed upon afaik, they just retracted, and the war was over.... _________________________________________________________

Mutual war isnt the equivalent of a return declaration.
There is still a declaring side and a recieving side, so even if the recieving side makes the war mutual... the declaring side can still retract at any time.
All a mutual war does is void war costs.

There is no reason you must fight.
Join noob corps, just leaving an alt or two in your old corp to shuffle assets in stations.
If your enemy was "Seeking PvP fitted PvPer" opponents, it would be different, but such is obviously not the case, so ignore him and bore him.

Just stop mining for a week and get a **** load of frigates and go and WTFPWN theyr arses.. I mean a corp that declairs on a small mining corp cant be that hard to beat up. They probbly never excpect you to fight back. -------------------

Hiring some mercs might be an alternative.
Bad that corps can't exchange wars. Then you get our war and we take yours. I guess you prefer some guys who try to win the war with staying offline after they declared it.
