I dont care what happened, I dont care about someone screwing up. What I do know is the best way to correct stuff is to release the damn thing on the market. People will find stuff to attack because they are jealous and 2 people here make it seem like a really big problem although a couple of thousand would just prefer to see the thing evolve. Just release the BPs for sale, I would have anyway if I was an NPC science institude chief of dev.

I also think that's a great idea. Release the BP so that anyone can buy it off the market. Much fairer gameplay that way in my opinion. But more importantly like someone mentioned on a different post:
Quote: Yes, and instead of fixing those bugs, they do insane "balance fixes" and nerfs.

bp'S should NOT be given to big powerful or any corps to be fair... The market is there for bp's to be put and brought!!

the reason why they got the miner v was a mistake, and in my books ccp are fully supporting messing up the economy but giving this out, all money and everything from teh relevent people due to the devs mistake should have been done like in any other mmporg simple as that.
you can not roleplay situations like this at all when it effects nearly EVERYONE.....simple as THAT.

Heh. no.
Tech level II will not be as abundantly available as tech level 1. The release of so many bp's on the market in the beginning was to jumpstart the economy and to gie everyone access to the basic items. Tech 2 will be more difficult to get hold of.
Remember, these are but two BP Copies. They're not originals, there will never be more then 2 (untill Tech2 gets fully introduced) and they cannot be improved upon.
EvE will never be a level playing field ;)

The devs have stated in the past that there will be unique items, so there might be only 1 bp or one of the item in the game. Now I realize that the miner 2 might not be, or is meant to be, one of these. I just want to know what your reactions will be when there is a nice weapon bp that is a pirate drop, and it is the only one. Would that constitute as "not fair"?

<sarcasm> Damn! Damn! There's finally a market competition on ONE item in game !
And peoples are so dumb that they pay 5 mios for it !
Know what ?! I checked and the original blueprint is not handed at the cofee shop at the corner of my street ! WTF ? I fail to understand !? My brain is... going havoc.
I tought that fairness was flatlined braincells boring clones all selling exactly the same **** that drop 1000x from every frigate pirate I kill.
OMG OMG! I was wrong. Save me !
Oooooh pity pity CCP Screw it fast, the market may go back alive ! He could turn in a gelatinous monster eating whole solar systems, I just had that nightmare... I saw it... Believe me ! AAAAAAAAAAARRRGH... </sarcasm>

Eve must be a level playing field or end up with just Ragnar playing with his alts. (I chose a player random name, pick whatever playername you like anyone)
Competition is a key word in "distributing" rare(?) items, it is tremendously easy to just make a competition and give stuff away.

But should the BP be on general release?
A few weeks back, people were talking about the nerfed market as everyone could make their own stuff and undercut other people.
So CCP restrict a BP (by what other posters have said, there are only 2 of this one) - and people still whine.
Tech lvl 2 stuff should be rarer - and consequently more expensive. Or else in a few weeks people will complain about the nerfed market for tech lvl 2 stuff, and how someone is selling miner2s for 5K each.... So stop whingeing that you don't have one, and get on with the game.
Oh, and I bet if you get hold of a tech lvl 2 blueprint for something else, you'd still whinge about how its unfair that you haven't got something else.

Why? Then the market will be flooded with Miner II's, and after 20 minutes they will cost 100k or something like that. Is that what you want? If so, why do you want that? Why do you want the market to become even more screwed up?

The difference between this game and say, diablo, is that you can never loose your unique item. In other games a guy gets a godly helmet or a sword, the others gang up on him and take it away. It's all fair. I just don't think that anybody will fly around with an unique BP in his cargo. --

Having only 2 prints on the market is finally a good move by CCP, it will finally allow some people to make actual money on producing, and other people making money on these people by mineraldelivery and distribution.
Everybody whining here is just not seeing the bigger picture. It's not like you HAVE to buy the miner II, if you think 5M5 is a good price, then buy them, if it's not, then don't.
It won't take long for them to drop to a more acceptable level once the crazy rich guys have all they need.
Besides it will also drop the prices for the other pirateloot lasers, perhaps you could just check one of these out. --- soonÖ |

Is production costs thousands only?
Bear in mind this is tech level 2.
I don't know what is used to make it, but would suspect either a lot of minerals, or some very valuable ones. I'd be very suprised if the mineral cost was only double the miner1.

Then don't pay it. Wait until the prices drop or more bp's are found and prices drop from competition.
This game will get borring very fast if every corp has the same chance to aquire the same items.
We need big corps, we need small corps, we need corps with so much money they can buy what they want. We need corps with very little.
Everyone the same would be borring.
In time tech 2 will become the same as tech 1.
Those corps with the most clout/moeny/brains will get in on tech 2 early, but everyone will eventually catch up.

If that would be the case it would be 100% ok, but the problem that exactly that has not happend.
Due to an error of one of the devs 2 individuals got a nibelung mining laser each, a tech lvl5 item. It seems that those nibelung were removed and those indiviuals were given a miner 2 bp copy instead. There are two problems here:
1st: This "compensation is totally out of preportion. A miner 2 bp copy is worth at least 10 times as much as that nibelung, tech level 5 or not. A realistic worth would be more like 20 times as much.
2nd: Those bp were not earned, they were given. You could be more influetional, would play more, would follow the events closely - but you would had no chance at all to get them.

I agree on some points, Release it on the market BUT at a high price. Lets say 30 million ISK & and make it uncopyable.
Most corps can afford 30 million ISK & will making it un copyable will stop every guy and his dog from getting a copy thus driving the prices down low to silly levels where no profit can be made.
Profitable but no too profitable. Going for 6.7 million ISK in the Miner II channel atm. Utter shambles. If they were 500k or 1mil it'd be a lot fairier.

Ok im getting really sick of this now guys, come on. I challenge one of you to point me to a SINGLE post where it is confirmed by either a GM, Pann, a Dev or one of the corps involved that the miner II BP was given to the 2 groups involved in the miner V incident as compensation, as far as I can tell, one or two people decided that this was true then others just read their posts and belived them. I for one will not belive that this happened untill im told by someone WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS.
As for putting them on the market, are you insane??? I dont have to explain why read the other posts here.
EDIT: Oh and another thing: il bet that 99% of the people complaining these are expensive are not full time miners like me. I have mining lvl 4, industry 3, refining 5 and refining efficiency 2, this is my job and I enjoy it, for me a CU or XECL gives almost as big a yeild as the miner II would, but what you want is to be able to just hop in your mining ship with no skills except mining lvl 1 and be as good as me, thats bull**** and Ill bet 100isk thats the main reason all of you are yelling for this to be made so everyone can buy it.
Also to guy who posted before I could hit enter, also NO. Pricing it at 30 mil is not going to stop anyone buying it at all, they will just save up the cash, it costs a hell of a lot less than a battleship and would them enable you to mine for a battleship faster so everyone would just get the BP AGAIN and the market would get ****** up all over again and why should only p[eople with money be able to get tech 2 anyway? with the system of distributing some BPs through random events at least everyone has a chance of getting a nice little money maker, ofc if a new player who started last week and has **** all got the miner II BP you would complain as well eh, "because hes new he dosent deserve the BP, ive been playeing longer give it to me me me or I cancell my account! waaaaaa!" sigh.

Mitch, grow up m8
Most ppl ehere dont mine at all. They are just revolted by the total lack of information about the introduction of the miner II bp.
Of course people draw the coclusion that this is connected with the Nibelung V incident. The numbers match. It might not be connected at all, but the fault of this lies at CCP AGAIN!
Be a responsible game designer and just announce on these forums that these bp copies (not originals it seems) are NOT the compensation for the removal of the nibelung V's
If they were, CCP is just plain stuuuupid as they should know the flack that would cause, and should know that it would be overcorrecting a dev mistake.
If they were not, well congrats to whoever own the bp's, and again CCP should know better than to introduce them this way, in these small numbers. 10 or 15 of the BP's would have been better, as that would probably mean more competitition.
This only concerns miners, and as such is not of great value to me at all. But it might just as well have been railguns.....

The only problem with any of this is, how are they being introduced.
The can not all be introduced the same way.
Lets say that there are a total of 8 BPs to be made available.
If 2 are dropped by pirates then 2 must be offerd as an agent reward, 2 more offered in an event and the last 2 (only 2) placed in the market.
That way there is at least a chance for every player to be able to obtain an item.
Or do it class related. So 2 miner 1 BPs are dropped by pirates.. to ballance it 2 650 scout lvl2 are being offered as agent rewards... etc...
the point is, ballance (i'm not talking fairness) is maintained. Items sould never just be handed over to random or worse specific people unless it happens galaxy wide. The only way the dispersal is acceptable if a jove were to drive up to a 1.0 system and randomly pick 1 person and say "Here it's your lucky day"

Or
- Have civilian ship BPs become available on the market (when random seeding is in) - Militairy ships available through agents - Civilian, basic gear through market/drops
etc

A week ago everybody was whining that "the market is broken" because bps and bp copies were so common that there was an impossible price war and manufacturers had trouble making good money.
Now that very rare blueprints are released everybody flips out because the blueprints aren't available to everyone. What a bunch of selfish hypocrites. None of you complainers, not one, actually gives a damn about the fairness of the game. You're speaking purely out of jealousy--you want blueprints to be rare, but you won't be happy unless you specifically are the one to receive the rare blueprint.
If you'd personally received a rare blueprint, would you sell the product at or near cost to make it as fair as possible for everybody who didn't get the bp? No. Why? Cause you don't give a rat's ass about fairness. You'd milk it for all its worth just like the current holders of the bp. You want blueprints to be in the hands of only a few people. You're just furious when you're not one of them.
Nobody's complaining in the interest of fairness. Everybody's just jealous. ___________________________________________

Your talking about two extremes here. The Market is broken and going down the drain because its flooded and the market is too dry in this case of monopoly. A flood and drought, two bad things. I was hoping they could settle somewhere in the middle. ----------------------------------- about:blank |

Jealousy has nothing to do with it, Setec. I for one couldn't give two figs which corp has them or how many billions they make out of them. Its the mindnumbing stupidity by CCP representatives all the way through this saga that has everyone's goat. As with everything else they do its amateurish and the consequences of their actions are ill thought out to say the least.
One day they will wake up - I just hope when that day comes (when they eventually turn it from a beta to a full-release of course) the server isn't down to 1k active players - a potentially fantastic game ruined and the plug pulled because its no longer economically viable to maintain.
We all know CCP are just after the dollars - otherwise it wouldnt have been released way to early in the first place to recoup their investment. You only have to look at the level of customer support (err..what level?) to see how much the consumer is valued in their eyes. If you think for one minute they won't wind Eve up if it starts going into the red I suggest you smoke a different brand of wacky backie. |
