Anatole Madullier wrote:You seem to be under the impression that it is governments and politics that make up society. But in all honest it isn't so. We've been made to believe this, we've been fed this from the moment we were born and many continue to believe this till the moment we die. Unfortunately they do. Now I am all for frollicing around in meadows naked, but civilizations require governments. We believe in them because there is a need for them. Governments are essential for civilizations, and for the most part civilizations are necessarily good things.
Anatole Madullier wrote:Think for a moment, imagine if you will and I understand this is difficult to phantom because I myself am not even able to picture it clearly how it would work out. Again confusion reigns. Are you asking us to imagine something that can't be imagined? Have you considered the reason you canGÇÖt imagine it is because a civilization as complicated as our own couldnGÇÖt function using your... model.
Anatole Madullier wrote:But imagine a universe without borders, a world without governing body, a society of people based in the ideal that we all are people, and by that ideal we are all equal. No thank you. What your describing is called chaos and would result in the near total extermination of our species. Without functional order, relying on the whim of the individual societies and by extensions civilizations crumble. As very few will do the unpleasant things that need to be done to maintain communities.
To put it in very practical terms. Someone is going to have to muck out the public privy sooner or later and folks that like to run naked in meadows usually won't volunteer.
Anatole Madullier wrote:As I also stated. Our society of choice is utopian though we know it will never be. Your exercise is, by your own admission, and as described, pointless. GÇ£Here also are the heralds of his praise."

Cipher, part of my education at the SWA required some reading of foreign political theory. A very interesting treatise from the Federation -- 'Temporary Autonomous Zone' or something like? I forget the author -- posited that all revolutions inevitably turn on themselves, as they establish a new power structure.
Come to think of it, this is commonly associated with 'festal' or 'rave' culture, whatever that is.

James,
You counter a lot of my points. And you are right. You counter my points based on your life experience, on what you have seen and observed and what you believe or have been led to believe.
I like to think beyond the constraints of what has been presented to us by media, by education and by our peers. And that is my choice.
I'd like to provide insight in how for just a few hours we can let go of all these constraints, we can experience the freedom and at the same time the responsibilities that come with it. What we do is far from pointless, and the only way to see this is experience it.
Cipher,
From the bottom of my heart I thank you for that source. Quafe, doing stupid things faster, and with more energy! |

Anatole, I agree with your message. We should show the world the cycle of true life, death, and rebirth.
Let us go forward. Together, preferably. I am also a human, straggling between the present world... and our future. I am a regulator, a coordinator, one who is meant to guide the way. |

Directly? None. Indirectly I suppose it could be argued my new connections with others alters my perspective which in turn alters my personality. The main alteration in my behavior as compared with, for example, a year ago would be due to the things I have witnessed and learned. I would hope everyone would be so open minded to changing their views when presented with new information.
I have however been looking into additional implants with behavioral modification intent. If I have the tools to improve myself, I see no reason not to. |
