Logistics is the ball and chain of modern society. Connecting producers and consumers and thus keeping industries flourishing, satisfying customer demands or allowing war machines to continue grinding is a fundamental aspect of many societies.
In the New Eden universe we see the importance of logistics even clearer and as a result we see corporations emerging and actively satisfying the high demand of logistics. Only few corporations though are as established and experienced on public large scale logistics as the one presented in this Spotlight.
Learn all about Red Frog Freight, their history, inner workings, operational challenges and the team behind this amazing service.

Red Frog are a great group of people to fly with. Well, to chat with, while you're shifting goods all over the place, at least
Having seen their operation from the inside, it'd professional, and efficient. And it's always handy to have that network of people to let you know when Ganking is picking up in system. CCP Atlas wrote:Go go Red Frog! Love you guys! We'll never forget the contract and API improvements you made, Atlas. They really made things so much better.
Allow me to use this opportunity to ask for two more improvements:
1. The ability to "give" people things from a distance without having to use a contract. Similar to giving ISK, just be able to right click on an item and select "Give to" and it brings up one of those Enter Name fields. Done.
2. The ability to set a corporate-level max/base collateral amount filters on incoming contracts. For example, Red Frog could set a base of 1 isk (to keep people from posting uncollateralized contracts) and a max of 1 billion (Red Frog's max it will accept).
Edit: If you wanted to make a really "uber" courier contract feature, have a built in warning when the collateral is less than the estimated value. Not sure if that's possible, but it would be an incredibly useful feature. ***Prodigal Frog***

But I like Red and Blue Frog too....
Well deserved community spotlight, these guys are awesome (even at Mozilla queue status!). Several times in the past i forgot to set the collateral, stuff always arrived (along with a message reminding me not to do that ) |

Must say its nice seeing the history in this community spotlight. Raging Taurus and I (different character, Eadeana) ran Dark Cross Industries for a looong time. I actually recruited Locin Weda when he started doing low and nullsec stuff. And a few months later started Black Frog (coughkaaaaaahhhhhhhnncough). What did Dark Cross in was the online tool. We had to manually provide quotes for each contract and we got maybe 50 quote requests a day and couldnt keep up. So eventually Dark Cross failed and Black Frog rose. Then I joined forces to contribute to a successful monopoly of the hauling industry :)

When I first started hauling, Raging Taurus -- Dark Cross was the go to losec/nosec hauler. RF partnered with them and sent any inquiries over. I had a very healthy respect for him and his corporation and all the work they had done. When I decided to give Black Frog a go (partially becuase Dark Cross was recruiting the people I wanted to start Black Frog!!), I worked really hard at a merger with Dark Cross and Raging Taurus. We offered him everything, including CEO, total hire/fire control, rules control, and a piece of the action on all contracts (something the Frog doesn't do). We had only one condition, it had to be a Frog name to fit the brand. After almost a month and a half of slow motion negotiations, he ultimately declined the offer. I really wanted to Raging Taurus to become part of the Red Frog story, but it was not to be. We went as far as to keep the Dark Cross link up in our channel after we first opened Black Frog, so that customers still had a choice. Only after we had completed 100 contracts did we take it down.
It's great that at least a piece of that bit of hauling history is preserved with Eadeana as part of Black Frog. I don't think RT plays anymore. o7 Raging Taurus, wherever you are. ***Prodigal Frog***

Oh whoops, I thought he was the same guy, derrrr Anyway, yeah RT asked my advice on the merger and I told him we should compete lol. So it was probably my fault that didnt happen. But I still see some of RT's alts log in every now and then, so hes still alive I think, just skill swapping :)

Estimated value is often bollocks. Something is better than nothing, but the real focus is the concept that the contract is warning the person that there is a discrepancy. I'm not saying that someone should match the collateral to that number, but anything that wakes people up is a good thing when they're creating massively valuable contracts that other people get to rifle through. ***Prodigal Frog***

https://github.com/fuzzysteve/eve-evaluator /might/ be of interest to you Just a simple 'paste stuff here, see a price out of any specific region' (though you'd need memcache with a data feed into it, like from https://github.com/fuzzysteve/EMDR-Consumer)
Might be handy as a service to provide your customers, to get an idea of what collateral to set.

We explored the idea, it could work for low-sec I guess, but the risk vs reward is too high for it to be profitable on the long term.
So it's only Freighter and Jump Freighter for the alliance. :)

Just to expand on Beatrice's answer:
Here are the daily contract statistics for the days around the date for the account bans, and Burn Jita:
Day before account bans: 17/4-18/4: 5635 jumps, 481 completed contracts, 0 failed Day of account bans: 18/4-19/4: 5813 jumps, 464 completed contracts, 3 failed First day of Burn Jita: 19/4-20/4: 4939 jumps, 377 completed contracts, 2 failed Second day day of Burn Jita: 20/4-21/4: 3770 jumps, 295 completed contracts, 1 failed Third day of Burn Jita: 21/4-22/4: 6368 jumps, 460 completed, 0 failed After Burn Jita: 22/4: 5885 jumps, 492 completed contracts, 0 failed
I would expect a lot more than 3 failed contracts on the 18th if the wtz-exploit had been prevalent in Red Frog.
Just to make it clear, if I get knowledge of anyone inside RFF utilizing wtz-exploits, or bots, I will gladly report them to CCP myself for them to take a closer look. Red Frog Freight thread Red Frog Freight Trip calculator Red Frog Freight Service status |
