I have trouble running 2 clients with my new geforce 6600gt. After a while one of the two clients start running at 4 fps. and a minute or 2 later the background turns white and becomes practically unplayable.
what is the best graphics setup to run 2 clients? dither on/off? sun occluded on/off?
etc.
tnx. greets archa

Edited by: Bradstone on 23/11/2005 18:12:39 is the graphics card AGP or PCI-E fitting? And what is the cooling situation like for the card...

Put each eve instance on a seperate HD.
I run 3 accounts on a 6600GT(128) and rarely see that white stuff.
I ussually switch off effects etc. and minimize overview/all windows except on the main account. But that's more for conveniance.
All three instance are on seperate HD's though. If i place all 3 on 1 then it's white on two accounts normally. Eve having to wait to have the "scenery" loaded results in the great laggy whiteness. Raindrop

i have the same setup . 2 clients with a gf 6600 .gt.. but no lag if i switch off sound completely on both clients. when i switch on sound on 1 of them.. then i get a 10 fps drop. but its works fine by me.. the sun thing i have it switched on.

I play 2 clients on my machine. at 1st I had problemswith 3 things. 1.running 2 monitors.( not good) 2. Video card overheating with stock cooling stuff. 3. only having 512 mb of ddr 333.
So I run 1 17 in. monitor @ 1600 x 1200 and run both clients in window mode @ 1024 x 768 @ 24 bit color depth. Fixed my GF FX5600 ultra's heat problem by removing the stock heatsink and fan and installed a Zalman ZM80D-HP kit. This dual heatpipe cooler with the ram heatsinks and the very quiet 80mm fan not only cured the overheating problem but my system is nearly silent now.
And #3 was taken care of by just boosting ram to 640MB. 2 clients use and average of 524-555MB of ram on my system with cpu usage averages 90%.
The only issue I get every so often is docking or undocking at certain Amarr stations. The station will sometimes turn into a bunch of random lines and colors. All I have to do is hit escape and change color depth to 16 bits and resume game.
