I have just finished grinding out the 7.0 standing level required to anchor a POS in Gallente Space.
My question is this, can I anchor ANY type of POS or only a gallente one in Gallente controlled space.
Not sure if it matters much but I am looking to do a bit of manufacturing / blue print copying.
Things I was hoping to manufacture;
Rigs Capital Stuff Regular size ships.
I will be buying a Large control tower of course I just have absolutely no idea on how to fit it.
Thanks for any help. |

Any type of POS. Look at the attributes of the different types and decide what will work the best for you. You will also need to decide what size you want use. I use a small pos myself.
More importantly, find yourself an empty moon.

Hi,
I have already scouted out 4 potential spots only a few jumps out from Dodix so hopefully they stay clear for a day or two.
As for the POS, I listed what I wanted to do, it seems Amarr will give me the most modules for defense and Caldari best for manufacturing if I am reading correctly? Do you know how much of a difference the two towers actually make?
Thank you for your input |

As said.
The standings is for the rights to anchor a POS in the system with the sec status.
It doesn't matter if that the tower is Gallente, Caldari or anything else. Are you in need of some nice chat? Are you new and want some help? Look no further and join: Crazy Dutch Guy |

not wanting to hijack the thread but what does a typical high sec Small POS look like ? Do people usually just try to fit as many advanced labs on them ? |

Basically...most likely
Most high-sec POSses are build just to research stuff...so as many labs as possible
Most people just use station manufacture lines for production, but if you can get a spare manufacture module on a POS when a next lab doesn't fit...then why not place it there, make use of all the POS fitting you can get. Plan your pos on this website: http://eve.1019.net/pos/
It will take into account the stats of your chosen tower type. As others have pointed out the different POSes have different properties, but you can anchor them anywhere you have standings regardless of tower type. You could have many different towers for different applications, all in the same system. As long as your character has the proper standings with the Faction of your choosing, you can anchor any tower you like best. |

The only difference between all of the racial towers is their fitting numbers (i.e. how much powergrid versus cpu), and their specific bonuses (most of which tailored to defense, although a few are tailored to industry they are not much useful in highsec). Well there are difference in sheild resistances and sheild/armour/hull hp spread, but those aren't really useful for the current discussion. Most people in highsec use Caldari due to their large amounts of cpu being handy for labs, Amarr towers are normally used for pure staging POSs as they can hold lots of defenses, though they can also work for moon mining as they get a silo bonus (though this only matters in lowsec and 0.0). Some also use Gallente due to the fact that they have a nice mixture of cpu vs powergrid.
Some like to use POS assembly arrays due to the fact that they get a speed bonus compared to station lines, plus you never have to wait for slots. Though if you chose the right system you will likely never have to worry about it. I once podded myself by blowing a huge fart. |
