Heya guys
Im new to this game and im looking for a great mining ship.
Im Caldari race and i currently have Bantam ship, im looking for a ship that mines fast and with a great cargo space.
Is there any good mining ships for 1 million ISK ?

I can't immediately recall what's good for mining in the Caldari Frigate department, but as soon as you can fly an Osprey (the Caldari mining Cruiser), you'll probably be in hog heaven. Some people consider it one of the best miners in the game right now. And Cruisers aren't too far off from Frigates.

1 million? No. 3 million? Definitely gotta be the Osprey.
The Bantam is the best Caldari mining frigate, though.

I would say that the Osprey is the best Caldari mining ship but it is a cruiser so you will need the skills to fly it. It's also around 2.8 - 3.2mil ISK depending on where you shop.
I have three Miner II's and I jetcan using a Badger II (about 700,000ISK)for hauling. Getting just under 1 mil ISK per hour at present. That also depends on what you're mining and your skill points. I have refining at lvl5 so I refine the ore to make more profit. I also have Caldari Cruiser at lvl4 so I get a better yeild as a result.
You can also fit a missile launcher on at the same time as your three miner II's for defence along with drones. I've been able to handle myself against the belt rats in 0.5+ systems without any problems.

I would also recommend the osprey but I also know a lot of people who use the Cormorant before they move up to the Osprey.
It's a destroyer (so cost around 1m) with 7 turrents but it's a bit low on cpu so you fit at most 3 miner IIs.

I heard someone mention once that all but the absolute largest Mining Barge is actually worse at mining than a properly fitted and skilled Osprey. Is there any validity at all to this claim?

The med barge should be a bit better too. It goes something like: Small = better than best mining frigate, Medium = better than best mining cruiser, Large = better than best mining battleship.

Large Mining Barge
Apocalypse
Armageddon/Megathron
Dominix (actually Dominix is on par with the Apoc with top drone skills)
Medium Mining Barge
Tempest
Scythe/Osprey
Small Mining Barge
Mining Frigates
Things to consider:
Mining barges have a larger cargo bay than ships and a longer mine cycle, thus they need less attention.
Mining barges can mine ice.
Battleships have FAR more survivability.

Don't go for Miner 2s on a destroyer. You can fit 4 named Miner I's for less cpu and grid than a trio of miner 2s, with comparable yield. This will leave you enough cpu and grid to fit other modules such as weaponry for defense.

Nice list, though the Brutix can outmine a Medium Barge with reasonable skills (it can very nearly hit 2000m3 per 180 seconds). Great for lowsec solo mining, especially for newer players.

Even though you're Caldari, you might think about training up the Minmatar tree and using a Scythe. The Scythe can fit three miners and 2 launchers, which makes it a bit easier to defend against .4 and .5 NPCs. The drone bay on the Osprey is larger, but IMO two assault launchers with standards and one drone give better NPC protection than one launcher and four drones.

I'd say its the other way around--the drones are extremely effective. Plus, since the cruiser gets a bonus for cruiser skill level, IMO it would be a bit silly to train up Minmatar cruiser 3 or 4 levels if he's going for Caldari battleships to begin with.

From what Butter Dog says i get 2300m3 per 180 seconds from my medium barge I don't know how 2000m3 from a Brutix can beat that.

So I'm guessing you think the Maller is the best mining cruiser for Amarr? I'm about to move into a cruiser and was trying to decide on one. The Omen seems like it would be good as well with 4 turrets, a drone bay & a larger cargohold.
