A critical bug was discovered in the code applied to Singularity recently. This bug allowed the one-shot destruction of celestial objects, like stations, stargates, asteroids, etc. Rebooting Singularity did not restore the objects.
Needless to say, we consider this bug a show-stopper, and Singularity has been removed from player access until the bug is fixed.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, but since players are being stuck in systems where the stargates or stations have been destroyed, we feel this is the best step to take.

They accidentally made a Death Star? Many SWG players exodus to Eve over the past few days.
I kept saying the Death Star POS was a bad idea in the content team meetings, but Oveur insisted. He muttered something about not having the only titan after RMR's deployment and wanted to up the ante.
On a more serious note, there are a whole range of potential causes for the bug. Someone in the thread mentioned putting a wrong number of zeros in a database entry. One of the vols said it could be a missing if/then statement. Regardless of the cause, the Devs are looking into the issue and will have it resolved in the very near future.

Originally by: Darius Shakor By the way Kieron, does this delay testing at your end for RMR? Or is development not hindered by this? (ie, is sisi not critical to testing for the DEVs other than mixing it with current stuff on the server?) And will RMR be delayed much if this takes a while to fix?
Our bughunters and other ISD volunteers can access Chaos for testing. If the database is corrupt because of this issue, we have a new mirror standing by. People were wondering how this could happen, and have posted some specualtion. Since the last Singularity update there have been a number of huge changes that could have caused this, the biggest one being the integration of the new effect system. It would not surprise me if that was the cause.
I'll give you an ETA for Sisi when I know more. ------ Valar Quality assurance department CCP games How to write a good bugreport |

Slander and lies, the big clue being that it's not just graphically missing

It was actually not the effect system that caused this. It was a tiny change to undocking restriction code that caused this as a side-effect.
This is fixed now and Singularity is back up. ------ Valar Quality assurance department CCP games How to write a good bugreport |
