What is the most powerfull Medium Hybrid gun
in EVE sofar for close range combat ?
I remember : Heavy Ion Anode + AM amo

At some point Neutron and Ion switched places, so Neutron is most powerful now. Anode Neutron Blasters are the most powerful i've seen. They have 15% bonus, so there should be something out there with 20%, although I have never seen it.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

aye, heavy anode/modal neutron blaster for cruiser damage. to open up pain in battleship flavor, the neutron blaster cannon is the most powerful. if it only didnt sound like a pop gun, i would use it. :)

I tell it again and again, but people never learn.. 
Modal IONS are still the best ones. The modal neutron have a mod of 3.75 and the ions only of 3.375, but you forget that the neutron have this 1 second higher rof.
If we calculate the mod over 6 second instead of 5 for the ions we get a dam mod of 4.05.
The only disadvatage they have is a lightly lower falloff (9k instead of 10.5k).
For large guns the neutron is the better one, though. The ion is still stonger, but only slightly (3.75 against 3.85 over 6 seconds) but the neutron has a substantially higher falloff (20 vs 15).

The modal ions are the best. The do more damage over the same amount of time. When you're a hybrid user, damage output should be foremost on your mind. You have the potential to do more damage than any other gun type in the game. And faster too.
Ions are way better than just putting on 3-4 rails. Get in your targets face with some anti-matter ammo and just rip right through him.
