I as of yet havent did anything stupid with my PC, unless you count installing Diakatana *shudder*
However i worked in a PC repair shop while working my way through college. I had the privalege of witnessing the true extent of peoples stupidity.
2 stories, First was a guy who wanted to build the PC himself he ordered all the parts from us and despite our warnings because we seriously doubted this guys ability to turn on a PC let alone build one, he went ahead. Couple of days later he came in furious 'You have sold me ****, none of it works' We sighed and opened up the case at first we couldnt work out what had happened but on a closer look we found he hadn't used thermal paste while installing the CPU. He had in actual fact used Super glue 8| - He didnt get his money back.
2nd one was a young couple who wanted a simple net ready PC. We built it, gave them a good price and they were happy. A few months later the woman arrives with the PC monitor and speakers as well :) She cant connect to the internet. - we open it up and find the modems loose, a little strange but we push it back in and away she goes happy. Next time she brings it back same problem only this time no modem inside. She didnt seem surprised and happily paid for another. A month later her hubby comes in explaining that she had been running up massive credit card bills while buying stuff in an addictive spree over the net. He told us not to fix the PC if she brought it back. Not a problem when she finally did bring it back it rattled, he had thrown water over it and attacked it with a hammer. What did she say, lol. 'Can you fix it'
Work in a computer shop for a week youll have a million stories

I hit my Work laptop quite hard one day and the screen went black (I was at home atm) I carried on hitting and it fixed itself. That happened a couple of times more...until it never came back up again. One new mother board later.....and we are back in business
I sometimes get kinda violent with my PC at home specially when playing BF2, lucky for my PC I haven't been playing BF2 for a while now.

Originally by: FireFoxx80 Once wired two of the +12V rails together by accident, turned PC on, huge blue spark, died.
Amazingly, untied the two rails and it rebooted fine, although my MoBo died a few months later. (BP6)
Similar, I tested a tape drive out for a friend on an antec 480 psu. When I booted, the PSU shot fire out the back of it, it exploded, and filled my entire living room up with acrid smoke.
Replaced PSU, after sweating it for a few hours, and all was well. No mobo fricasee. I now test all new hardware for shorts on the old PII down in the basement before plugging it into my main box. I don't care if it comes from dell, or anywhere else.
Antec PSU's are not cheap.

Edited by: Imran on 28/11/2005 19:52:19 Went to compete in the CPL COD Tournament, thought i could carry on my PC as a carry on...i couldent...had to throw it in cargo...with no padding.
I had 2 stops before texas, so twice on the way to the competition i saw the airline workers literally throw my pc into the cart and into the plane. Then the flight home after 4 days, agian 2 stops, same thing. End result: Front was completely smashed, cd rom covering smashed, side panel dented, top dented, but she still works :} i still havent fixed it w00t. \o/

Best story yet.
I, don't, think, you, trust, in my self-righteous suicide. |

So my friend has a MAC . Well, one day, we were editing a movie and had a very short timeframe in which to complete it. No problem right? MAC's are pretty reliable.
Turns out his MAC had the ability to turn into a dragon at will and shoot fire out the back.

haha did the same thing last year, scared the **** out of me. Maybe because my face was only a couple of centimeters from the powersupply when it blew
