Will the plate mass change be a fixed amount of mass increase or will it be a percentage of your total mass.
Ravens with a few plates would = dead horse Yet, Apoc with the same number would only = wounded hyena
Physics suggests it should be a fixed amount, but I just wanted to check?

It's been fixed amount, actual mass depends on the size and module version. Doesn't seem like it changed with the latest build so would guess it's going to stay this way o.O;

last time I tried them it seemed to be a fixed value, not sure if they have changed it since then.
A double 1600 plate maller was about as agile as a freighter

I know you Caldari love to whine about absolutely everything but do you even know how much more heavy a Raven is over an Apocalypse?
2.3%
Right, didn't think so ________________________________________________________

It would be nice if the mass increase were actually listed in the item attributes instead of having to guess. Extenders have the penalty listed; why can't plates?

I think most Caldari don't think the mass difference between the Raven and the 'Poc is huge, the point is, WHY does it have more mass than a ship much larger than it covered in high-density armor plating, and WHY is it still this way due to a missile-ship nerf made long ago that is no longer applicable, and WHY is the race that was originally intended to be fairly nimble... not?

So you build Ravens IRL? You know exactly what it's made out of and what makes ships heavy? Right.
Necessity is the mother of invention. The Apoc uses weapons that are limited to 15km max range. Torps go out what, 100km? Even as that stands the Apoc is a whole 2.3% lighter. That amounts to practically nothing.
You don't build ships fast unless there combat effectiveness relies on it. Ravens don't depend on speed, stop whining ffs. ________________________________________________________

he was refering to the backstory, which implies that caldari ships were quite agile. If we're throwing the backstory out of the window I want 3000dps and 50k armour on my tempest please

Doesn't the backstory talk about Caldari frigates being agile (condor is, crow is ect). If not it doesn't matter anyway.
Balance > Backstory (i really shouldn't have to say this)

If I knew how, I'd hack Meridius' character, and wherever it said "Amarr" I'd change it to read "Caldari".
I wonder if he'd still be so dismissive of our problems? --- Ha! Vote me for top forum ***** |

I love this quote, because when Amarrians get nerfed, they go straight to the backstory and start quoting stuff from there.

I believe it's not the 2.3% you are refering to that ****es us off - it's the general crap agility and speed of caldari ships compared to other races when we are supposed to me 'nimble' as the other bloke said.
Fortunately however I started training gunnery a month or so before the missile patch and don't use missiles anymore so meh.

Not nessesarily, but Caldari is the last to enter combat, last to lock and last to warp out again and easiest to lock... To balance that up, we can lock far (which is nowhere as useful as quick lock) and we have negliable stronger sensors compared to say gallente...

Cute but since it's not something i've ever done your point would be..?
Also, what does tech 2 ammo have anything to do with backstory? Does backstory say that Amarr are forever condemed to doing EM and Thermal for all eternity?

Please enlighten me, how much extra time does 2.3% more mass add to a Raven aligning for warp over an Apoc? ________________________________________________________
