He is lucky it's only a temporary ban. Other online games would have made it permanent. People just don't get the fact that although the pay to play...they still click to accept an aggreement whereby they must follow the rules...everytime the startup the game.

Edited by: Hiro Protagonist on 12/08/2003 18:47:48 Word was Tank was rampaging in New Caldari last night, a corp-mate of mine and a bunch of other people chased him out. We found him in a station in Yulai, waited for him with a couple battleships. He ran for (and made) the Amarr gate and jumped out.
Just a half hour before I'd seen a GM White in the Amarr system in a Concord battleship, I wonder if Tank tried rampaging there and the GM saw him?
P.S. The fact that Tank or others would be surprised that a ban would result from continued killing people in 1.0 after a GM talks to them is, well, surprising!

The countless people who used the multi stacking dmg mods were never banned, how can they justify this ban now.
I am mearly the messanger and you know how that one goes. I beleive what I am doing is in my favor, I am the ceo, and I have the right to ask. If your TROLLING self can't handle this then just **** off.
I may not know every detail, as I was not there. If you can kill someone in 1.0 space, you should infact beable to do it.
For all those AFK macro miners.. this is mainly directed at them, what they are doing as far as we are concerned is an 'exploit' and they should be killed.

Yep everything else (technical discussions of bugs vs exploits vs loopholes vs grief etc) goes by the by when you are asked straight by a GM to desist from your actions and you still refuse.
Thats not a customer standing up for their rights ... thats a moron arguing for the stake of arguing.
The guy with the sports analogy hit the nail on the head ... its a football game, TankCEO got warned for jostling ... and rather than play on with sportmanship he whacked some poor fool upside the head with a studded boot!
Evolution in action....

Smoked, if you agree utterly and completely with what Tank CEO was doing then it's just a matter of time before you're banned also for doing something equally stupid.
So I'll ask now. Can I have your stuff?

I was in New Caldari on Sunday night, whilst Tank was having a bit of a rampage.
At an asteroid belt i could see some of results of his work probably. Some basic mining drones drifting in space beside a cargo container.
Actually i find it quite funny in the respect that he was partially going after the AFK miners in the belts, just cause they thought they were safe, and never take any risks.
Off-topic comment, what about all those AFK miners in the 1.0 newbie start systems, all there sucking away with their indies. Come on, leave some for newbs that are just starting out
Anyway, not the smartest move on the part of Mr Tank, killing in front of a GM, who was present in the system at the time
He's flying in a Scorpion battleship and he's got some uber shield mods. Obviously piloting a ship that can pack in some damage, yet he's not tempted to carry his ass off to the Stain region and go Jove hunting, but he'd rather pod newbs in 1.0 systems.
You have an interesting mindset Mr Tank |

Tank CEO was repeatedly warned by us about his nefarious activities in 1.0 systems as well as his infractions of other rules. Despite these warnings, he persisted with these activities. He has therefore been temporarily banned.
We do not take pains to advertise the identities of the people we have to take administrative action against (such as warnings or bannings), but suffice it to say that just because you have heard nothing of m0o, Molly et al. receiving warnings does not mean they haven't.
And seriously, guys... aren't these favoritism allegations getting a little tired? I, along with everyone else in this CS department, arrive to work, sit down at my cubicle, answer petitions, help out with technical incidents, drink a lot of caffeinated beverages, do my eight hours, then go home. I do not sit on the forums, tittering shrilly, mouth twisted in a rictus grin, formulating devious plans about which of the megacorps or pirates to tip the scales against, and even if I did I wouldn't be able to do jack squat about it, as I would get fired the moment I created even a single item that wasn't supposed to be in game. And I highly doubt that CCP holds corporate meetings to decide which of the megacorps to play favorites with, because on the whole they're a pretty smart bunch of guys and gals, and they can see how that'd hurt them in the long run. The incident with the laser has as far as I know been honestly explained by the parties involved, and those who are still crying foul don't seem to be aware of the facts yet.
Customer Service has no interest in keeping any group of players more powerful than another. It won't lessen the petition load, it won't fix the stuck bugs, and it won't make our Coke taste better. And quite frankly, right now those three things matter more to us than whether the next Miner II BP falls into the hands of RUS or TTI.
Tank should be back before long.
All the best, GM Gnauton |

unfortunately for the GM's and CCP you only get to hear from the whiney carebears like smoked who've never had an unspoken thought or gripe.
the other 99% of us enjoy the game immensely and appreciate all your efforts. if i were doing your job having to put up with the tank ceo's of the game i daresay my vice would probably be coke but not the kind you drink. keep up the good work.

where is the line that states pirates are slimes - inferior - etc, we are people like everyone else here. I do not appreciate the trolling, and once again I am shown by the dev/tec/polaris/gm teams that there is a line here that has no real grounds. You can step over it you can pass right by it and because your suposed to be the 'bad guy' you have no valid opinion or say in any matter.
where any other person in this forums beleives they are better than the next person is outrageos. I see this daily, because we are 'bad guys' which I might add (wasn't my choice at the start of eve) we are treated like we are prisoners with no say. I feel this way daily.
Like being strapped to a chair and beaten to an inch of my life, given rest for a day then the same thing happens again.. and for what? Simply be cause we choose to play kill and maim anywhere we want. There is no rules in the game, I seen no EMPIRE SPACE rules posted or a warning when I enter empire space that says "griefing is illegal" killing afk miners is illegal and can be penalized by bannishment.
Currently we have found killing 1.0 miners mostly AFKers, (as far as I am concerned is an exploit) that these miners are very profitable, and you can make up to 20 mil a day easily by smashing them.
The times I have seen one killed and seen their pod there for 8 hours afterwards totaly shows they are afk mining and deserve to die.
Tank is not podding people, only killing and looting. I am sorry if I didn't get the entire story, I never once was told by anyone that he WAS NOT ALLOWED to kill ppl in 1.0 space. For that I gave the order to kill these afk disgraces, and will give the order to slaughter many more after I go to council with this distrubing news of tank being banned.

When a GM tells you to do/not do something, that is THE LAW.
Quote: as far as I am concerned is an exploit
Smoked: You don't define what exploits are - CCP does.
If you want a game where you are the one to define what an exploit is, and where you define the rules and not the GMs or the company that wrote the game, I suggest downloading gcc at http://gcc.gnu.org and learning to code.

Are you f*cking stupid? I think you're trolling now. Everyone in the game sees this as an exploit but you, you're just looking to make trouble.

It's not up to "Everyone in the game". You need to understand that fact immediately.
"Everyone" does not make the rules. The day "Everyone" starts making the rules, I'll resign from my corp to give "Everyone" the hell they deserve.
CCP makes the rules. This is the important part:
It is up to CCP and them ALONE to decide what is or is not an exploit.
Not you. Not me. Not smoked or Tank CEO. Now if one of CCP's representatives says something is not an exploit, your opinion does not count. It should NEVER count as you are clearly biased (and quite frankly, immature in wishing him a permanent ban whilest lacking all the deteails).
Now if CCP changes their stance on a particular issue and decides something is an exploit, people are due fair warning prior to action being taken against their account.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann

I'm close to falling over in shock here
An unreserved "well done" to the GMs for finally standing up and enforcing some rules. I may reconsider resubbing just on this one bit of action.
We can argue about who should have been banned for months, but anyone trying to defend TankCEO's behaviour is, like him, a moron.
It needed to be done and I can think of nobody who deserved it more.

Ok lets just set some **** straight shall we?
I dont agree with tank being banned.. BUT
When m0o operated in empire space we were hardly left alone, gms moved us, concord pcs attacked us with larger guns and ships that we had.
It was made VERY clear to us and the rest of the community that we werent wanted inside empire space and that we wouldnt be allowed to operate there.
Also we operated in low sec empire space, hardly the 1.0 zones that the recent attacks have been taking place in.
That said I dont think banning was the answer, but please do not drag m0o into this when it is absolutely NOTHING to do with us.

Edited by: Vacuole on 12/08/2003 19:45:23 Edited by: Vacuole on 12/08/2003 19:44:12 Don't forget that CCP is a company and they have every right to tell any of their customers to take a hike whenever they see fit, for any reason, or for no reason at all.
It seems that unlike Mo0, who seem to be pirates and PO a lot of people, etc., but still have some semblance of sanity, TankCEO is acting totally contrary to what CCP desires for the game..
Its not hard to figure out.. why did they make that 1.0 high security highway system? Specifically to give players who don't want to PvP a viable way to also play the game.
So if TankCEO's selfish fun frustrates new players so that they don't ever load the game again, who loses?
I for one hope they put his credit card on at blacklist of some sort so that if he does decide to come back and play fron scratch, atleast he'll have to go through the trouble of getting another credit card.

your right, I am wrong, i guess in the world it is truely accepted that on mondays green light means go, and tuesdays green light means stop, and wensday it means that they going to change yellow to orange. Next time you ban a player for doing something that isn't in the EULA or any posted rules let us know that new rule has been aded that nobody is allowed to kill in 1.0 space, that is if your busy 8 hours of coffee drinking and typing will allow you to do so.
for anyone who judges another by his typing, opinions game play or general meanor, i hope you burn in hell slow for a long long time.
