Hi all,
One of my mates at work it really put off by monthly subscription games like EVE which is a right shame because I really want him to start playing EVE with me and my other mates.
I have been trying to convice him to start a 14 day free trial off for about 2 months now with little outcome.
His arguement is basicly that no one should need to pay monthly for games and that "it will cause all games to have no future as everyone will follow suit, If I subscribe then I'm no better and will cause all other game companys to follow suit and charge monthly"
I realllly want to get him into EVE as I know he will love the game but if he doesn't want to pay for it then there is nothing I can really do... apart from hassle him everyday
My question is help me to convice him how good EVE really is and for somehow to convice him to AT LEAST try his 14 day trial...
(I think I know why he won't try it for the simple fact that if he does he might like it and still not want to pay)
But I need help here! its a shame he can't post to argue his case because I'm sure you lot would have a lot to say to him but I can relay stuff from this post to him and post the responce

If only, He's a little bit more stubborn then that Maybe its a loss cause
But still I can't even get him to try his trial....it just doesn't seem excited about it enough to try it....even though he would most probably enjoy it. _______________________________ Waa it still too big not by much tho |

Here are some of his answers he just sent to me :
"i pay my TV license cos my GF is too scared not to, i wouldnt pay it."
"beer, i pay less than 99p per can i would have to drink two cans less each week"
"i pay for my internet connection because it is a service i use every day"
and "omg im no noob to online games, ive pld c-s since 1.3!"

I am at a loss on how to convice him and even if it CAN be done! _______________________________ Waa it still too big not by much tho |

Another small answer from himself
"i pay for games, i only object to repeatedly paying each and every month
i would happily pay ú50 get a cd in a case and a manual
then play with my cdkey whenever i want"
The thing is he is stubborn.....as I said before I KNOW he would like the game but yet he is still will not pay for it even tho he would probably get hours and hours of fun gameplay from it, it makes little sence to me. _______________________________ Waa it still too big not by much tho |

Get him to sign up with the trail, but tell him you will pay for one month of play time on his account.
If he enjoys it, then he has to start paying
Ah but he has a answer for that - "If you pay for me it makes no odds because your still supporting monthly pay games"
I can't win I tell ya! _______________________________ Waa it still too big not by much tho |

Edited by: Wizzkidy on 02/12/2005 16:31:24 Sorry to bump this back up again (it was on page 3) I havn't been able to reply until now.
I have to agree with FlyinFish in the end, I'm just not going to be able to convice him to play the game Such a shame really because the other games I play with him we have alot of fun : CSS / DoW etc..
Ah well good thing I got me cousin into the game instead
Thanks for all the comments and advice.
