I was podded by Tank CEO, in 1.0 and lost my bestower, that I worked damn hard too get and equip, spending days sucking on rocks. I have not logged in since. I do know that this game is a pvp one, but seriously, killing noobs like me (in the highest security sector there is, with impunity) trying to get some idea of what this game is all about is a sure way of ensuring that a lot of people, who would eventualy become an asset to the comunity are snuffed out, before they take the first few steps.
I put it to you gentlemen. This is not PvP, This is greifing, pure and simple.
I know some people are gonna put up some dawinian "suvival of the fittest, anti carebear" BS and to them I say, enjoy the coldness and empthyness of space, because it just got a little more empthy.

Well im not exactly a nebie ut in compared to some players...
I know how u feel, i gt killed by two player characters the other day. The difference between me and you is that I paid 6.5 million for my ship (no insurance).
To get this ship I mined for over a week solid, so it was more than a bit gut renching to lose it. all I can say is to stick with the game, even with setbacks such as yours and mine it is still a great game.
Also when u build your skills up make sure you upgrade your clone.

Stop whining. You expect to be safe in a 1.0 system right? You expect to be safe in your home right? Think again. We both know thats not the case, and because you don't like it your whining like the rest of the babies in here.
No-where should be considered completely safe. Remember that.

Personally, I am getting a little sick of those that defend the exploit tactics used by Tank and a few others.
However, since he finally got a short ban (I heard 24 hours?), at least Amarr and other 1.0 systems are a little more safe.. for now...

Take no heed of insensitive comments.
CCP does considers it cheating if a person exploited a bug or a flaw---it's right there in their petition menu. You are not supposed to be attacked in 1.0 space, period.
You may wish to file a petition with CCP, submit your logs as a proof you are a victim of a bug exploit. You may or may not get a replacement, that will be up to them.
A Bestower isn't an expensive ship (300k to 400k in Amarr space) so you should have no problem replacing it. By the way, my corp is looking to expand its employment roster and indy pilots are certainly welcome, especially around the Amarr-Chaven-Pernigman-Arbaz area. It sounds like you lost only your ship, but not your skills.

First of all, since you join a corporation, you should work together as a team. If that's not happen, then you're welcome to join mine. Second, we need to know what type of ship took you out. It had to be something big and yes you can get killed in a level 1 security area. Welcome to the real world of EVE. There are 4 different races of police and that pirate many not be wanted by certains police races. If polices can't arrive on the scene quickly to rescue you, then you're dead meat!!

log back in, hes been banned for exploiting that bug that makes concord let him attack everyone...
otherwise give your stuff to me since im the only one who provided usefull info

Yes Lindor, you say I whine like a baby, and I bet you feel all grown up by saying that. I would just love to see your reaction if someone exploited to make you loose everything you had.
But in a way you are right. I am an infant in this game, and like an infant I stay in my crib (eg sec 1.0) and rely on my parents protection(Concord). Should I be 100% safe there?..no, but at least I would expect my parents to react if a known criminal started to rugbytackle me in the playground.
Now I hear that Tank Ceo finaly got banned, for 24 hours?!?. Should the period of banning, not be at least equal to the time he stole from me, (and a lot of other players if I am reading these forums right) or am I beeing overly vindictive here? 
Well, as of now I am only logging in to keep my skills training, since I really don't feel like running into another snot-nosed kid out to ruin someones day. Then we will see what comes first. A bugfix or the next charge to my credit card.

Strangelove - it is greifing and you are right to be annoyed. You were unlucky and ran into one of the very small number of people that are willing to blatanly grief like TANK does. It seem slike he is being delt with anyway (finally!).
My advice would be to keep playing but just be a bit more carefull. I spent weeks playing in the Curse region with M0o and all that lot trying to kill everyone they see and with a bit of caution you are nearly always safe. Keep an eye on your local channel for the names of people - use the show info if necessary to check up on the people that are in space with you - and remember you always have 5 seconds to get away from anyone - once your warp drive is active they cant shoot you - so at the first sign of trouble double click on the first thing u see and warp off.

i think tank got banned because a scorp caught him at an astroid field and had him jammed, scrambled, and webbed, and was inviting people to come take pot shots at him, just all around giving him back what he does to other people, and then tank logged out. dont think the banning was for attacking in 1.0 while cops cheer him on.
i semi agree that no system should be safe, however the way its slowly turning as more decide they like this no cops showing up is that more and more of 1.0 systems are becomming as dangerous as 0.0 space. |

No. He was banned for threatening to attack people and blockade a gate in 1.0 space. I know because I have the chat transcript as I was in the same system when the GM met with Tank.
So don't give me the story that 1.0 space is as dangerous as 0.0 space. It is not meant to be, at least not in CCP's eyes, not in the Dev's eyes and not in the GM's eyes.

IMO a 1.0 system should be perfectly safe, even for a shuttle...
If some1 where to attack you they would get reprecuttions, they would not be able to use the jumpgate, not be abtle to dock or logg off disapear until they had been delt with properly. And then descending a bit, but 0.6 should also be considered quite safe
