So, I purchase a shiny new Prophecy and slip smoothly from the docking bay, marvelling at the magnificent luster of a nearby sun glistening upon the surface of the vessle.
Ahh, bliss; I am still a newbie, but I am doing it in style. Fear me all of your level 1, quality -20 agent mission pirates!
I then started wondering about the relative size of these vessles. I have heard that 600ish crew can fit on a Thorax (which is unfathomable for me). Probably because it is hard to get a feel for size in space. Ships look kind of like cars to me.
So! I was wondering if there is any roleplaying information on the ships? Crew size? Any special details? Interior colors, are the carpets plush? Racketball courts? Do they have bridges like super geeky Star Trek ships? Is everyone in a pod? Can I bring a date?
As you can see, any information or links would be great. Roleplay information makes the game more rich for me.
Incidentally! I picked up a copy of the Eon magazine and it is quite wonderful; the fiction is terrific and the guides are helpful. I am looking forward to the next one.

1. Why are you in Amarrian ships as a Gallente? 2. Look up the ship size chart, you will see that the thorax is half as tall as the eiffel tower. Just because they look big when you zoom in doesn't mean they aren't 500m long.

Well, if you must know, you can read why here: Gallente Women Fake It (Et Tu, Brutix? Et tu?)
Mercy, you Caldari obviously do not watch the Allare Doosmen show. Hmph.

Does this size chart include wallpaper swatches and information on why they chose an amber hue instead of say, a vibrant cerulean?

Edited by: Araviel on 03/12/2005 03:50:03 hi ivy, ive been doing some digging for you.
first here is a link that shows how much "size matters" in EVE http://img278.imageshack.us/img278/7594/evechart1vv.jpg
as for RP information about the interior's of the ships there is quite much, there are some good stories in the back story section. http://www.eve-online.com/background/potw/archive.asp however most of the interior information is spread out in the stories there so i recommend you to read them all, (they are all good )
a tip is to start the reading whit the "jovian wet grave" http://www.eve-online.com/races/wetgrave/?pp=background,stories a story describing how we got our first pods and how we becamed to start using them to controll our ships today.
so make a good cup of tea and slipp into something comfortable and enjoy some intressting reading, hope that helped

This is also a good short story to read along with The Jovian Wetgrave.

Edited by: 0ss0 on 03/12/2005 13:59:33 You do realize that the amarr have for century's used the blood of the Minmatar to progress thier ship industry? It's hard for me to believe you see beauty while I can only see repulsion. I'm shocked in your choice....and I must warn that I, and many like me, lock amarr ships on sight.

Minmatar, Schminmatar... our ships are the product of our faith. Our faith is beautiful...
Would you like a copy of Pax Amarria?

Ahh, yes, the righteous Minmatar. Does Voshun have toilet paper? Don't think it does . . . Oh my, if I had the proper markings, I might lose my tongue for breaking silence and saying that, eh? Lose the big genetic lottery and you become even less than a slave in Minmatar. You become shunned . . . a non-entity . . .
Yes, the Minmatar have learned a lot from their captivity. I suppose even dogs find something to kick, but after they have won their freedom from the jackboot, must they continue to kick as well?
