In the attempt to improve the overall fight quality and node stability in the Z9PP system at 22:41 UTC by moving away all non-critical services from this node, our engineers unfortuntely made a mistake and actually moved the critical system from the current server node instead of moving all other systems. As result every pilot in this system lost connection to the node and therefore to Tranquility. The system Z9PP is online and accessible again now. It is extremely unfortunate to make such a mistake and we apologize deeply for disrupting one of the truly epic battles in the history of EVE; especially since this battle already raged on for several hours and was still heating up for more! We are very sorry about this incident and will make sure that such mistakes won't happen again. Take the 117 trapped capitals away from the pilots that were trapped. They were dead and you should recognise this, I think! But yeah this was a mistake on CCP's side, an unfortunate mistake, and people calling ~THREADNOUGHT DEV ALLIANCE PLZ IGNORE~ are dumb
You mad about losing Recon V? We had you guys right where we wanted you. |

I don't care if it's a CCP employee making a mistake, a dev that wanted to save test or a mouse chewing on your cables, I expect more than "sorry won't happen again". Or maybe you don't need the 2000 players you just ****** over?
You should unsub to show them you mean business. |

This battle is truly epic in the history of EVE because it was the first time that a CPP actively affected the outcome of a pivotal battle in null security space. It is unfortunate that "human error" was the cause, but what is CCP going to do to try to correct this mistake and try to reconcile the actions that were taking place in space when the node was terminated?
You must me new to EVE. This has happened two or three times in favor of the Goons already in this war. And that's not even talking about what happened in battles prior to tidi. |

Because getting kicked off the server to save your ships is a victory right ?

2nd , we want those carriers and battleships saved by ccp to be removed from the game
3rd , we want ccp to invest in reliable servers
Let's see about that Goon dreadfleet we had tackled when the same thing happened just a couple weeks ago.

Careful. Mittens will probably commissar anyone who doesn't tow the line on this one. |

Ignore him, he's just pretty hurt over losing Recon V. Now he can't participate in honorable goon cloaky camps anymore.

What dread fleet?
Take your pick. There have been like 4 that have been saved by node crashes. CFC propaganda spins so much, they don't even know that CCP saved their (30 man?) dread fleet a couple weeks ago. The most enjoyable thing about talking to a Goon, is how little they actually know about how this war is going, how they believe they are taking space as they lose space, how they are taking moons as they lose moons, how they win by standing down, and win by standing up, and basically win every fight, even if no one logs in. Crazy people are a blast.
GoonSwarm isn't an alliance, it's a religion. o7 |

Please update us on who gets fired for this shitstorm. It was probably the same guy that keeps saving goon dreads.
Shh, don't talk about that. Goon leadership never told the line members that happened. Can't let Goon morale take another hit or the march on VFK will be rather boring. |

Instead of moving everything else than Z9PP-H, the command was given to move everything else than Q9PP-H. Therefore Z9PP-H (and everything else on the current node) was remapped with the fatal consequences we see now. It's unsurprising that your code doesn't check whether the excepted system actually exists on the node. A good coder always adds a sanity check regardless of how competent they expect the user to be.
You do realize how old the EVE codebase is, right? There's no guarantees of ease of integration even if this particular command was new. It's pretty :pohr: either way, but every programmer knows that this is just daily life. Decade-old code is never a good thing. |

Arrendis wrote:Ayures wrote: ****, you're right. I wouldn't want to interfere with the narrative.
Ayures, seriously, why is this level of incompetence acceptable? When it happened to CFC dreads, why was it acceptable then? Modern IT systems should be creating archival images at regular intervals - intervals that actually shorten as usage increases due to the need to back-up a higher volume of data flow and state changes. Why is losing customer data acceptable, rather than a 5-10 minute (hell, 10% tidi, make it a half hour, an hour!) rollback? You said (more than once) 'sure, we'll trade you for the dreads', and I'm saying that I think that'd be preferable to continued substandard service. I notice you don't seem to be respond to that - from me, or anyone else who's saying it. Why not? Do you prefer substandard service?
Service seems fine to me. Carriers are safe m8. |
