I'm always amused when people say CCP hates a certain race.
- CCP hates Minmatar because the 'phoon has weird bonuses (never mind that they also have some of the best intercepters and HACs)
- CCP hates Amarr because they are easily tanked against (but they also have the best dps, and can safely fit an apoc with any type of guns)
- CCP hates Gallente because drones are changing (though being better in some situations, worse in others)
- CCP hate Caldari because the Raven can't pwn frigs anymore (just like all the other Battleships)

Over here in Minmatar land, we have exactly two t1 frigs that are worth anything after a few weeks of training and isk-flow buildup: Rifter and Vigil. From what I've seen, the other races are pretty much the same.

Pretty much all other races are the same way. The large drone bay made the Thorax one of the very few cruisers that could be effective in PvP. The main ships in PvP are t2 frigs, HACs, and BS. Cruisers are mostly there for either target practice or in a supporting role (like the Blackbird's EWAR abilities). While I don't necessarily think that's the way it should be, it does happen to be the status quo, of which the Thorax is currently an exception.
