By default, the game applied the ultra settings with my setup, but it must be on drugs or just way to optimisitic since the game was umplayable at those extreme settings in certain parts of the single player campaign...Even the high quality settings are a little rough every now and then, but still playable.
Keep in mind though that this is at 5760*1200 resolutions with AA and AF dialed in, so it's pretty brutal for the video cards no matter what, but it does look spectacular and there's no such thing as a free lunch in this world, so i have a reason to get even faster video cards once said cards actually exist.... |

Audio is completely flubbered. It pops, crackles, and snaps more than any bowl of rice crispies I've ever had.
Nice job, EA. Rushing a half-way done shooter to release. |

That would just be you, sound works flawlessly and awesomely for me, awesome game though the single player story is meh but Battlefield has never been known for it's epic single player |

Sound works just fine here, but there are a few graphics glitches every now and then, and the lag with the largest maps and 64 players is atrocious to say the least.....DICE were not kidding around when they said that the hardware to run this game at the absolute maximum quality settings smoothly, simply doesn't exist.
At least it gives me a reason for future hardware upgrades.... |

I run them on medium, NVIDIA does have some problems with the game but I'm sure they'll be fixed soon.
I stay on 32-48 player maps unless I want to pretend I'm an elite polio victim with a rifle, though my favorite thing in the game so far is the shoulder launched anti air. Finally those damn helicopters can't fly around with impertinence anymore, ans I'm getting pretty damn good at waiting for the perfect moment a pilot freaks and drops flares before I fire |

Running the game on 'medium' settings with my mediocre system but still looks great and runs smooth. I can probably ramp it up a bit. I actually rented a place (3 euros/month) on a server/clan for this, that's the first time I could ever be bothered. Tempted to upgrade but spend all my RL isk for the next 6 months on new iPhone and holiday plane tickets.
Sound works fine for me, but a mate of mine had problems. He was running teamspeak at the same time, might be a problem.

Ok, I figured you'd be using more than 1 screen.
What's the performance like on 1 monitor at max settings?
I think two 590's would outperform that rig btw...but I stand to be corrected.
Got any photo's of the triple-screen layout? BF3 or otherwise? Be interesting to see something like that for reference...

Actually i need to take a picture of the screens themselves, but i do have a picture showing eve in superwide screen mode :

As for the video cards, all 3 of them are using custom a custom bios(allows higher voltage settings), overclocked and water cooled to 950 Mhz GPU's and 2200Mhz memory, making them significantly faster than stock, and keep in mind that the GPU's on the GTX 590 are downclocked compared to the stock GTX 580's, and they'd have to be modded with a lot better cooling and aa custom bios to allow anywhere near what i'm doing with my GTX580's

A lot of people I know are too :P My wife's laptop is Vista.
I'm probably going to get a technet subscription when I purchase a new computer for work stuff, I'll probably use the Windows 7 licences from there instead of buying separate ones for every computer I need to upgrade at home. |

I'm still on XP...no way in hell am I gonna upgrade to 7 with a dual core 3GhZ machine with only 3 gb of RAM and a GeForce 450s. I'm getting a new PC around Feb or so and I'll give this one to my wife who doesn't game very much anymore.
It's always a good idea to keep an XP machine around because it was pretty much the last decent thing Microsoft released. |

If you got yourself Battlefield 3, you just got screwed by EA, without lubricant. Read the EULA, they have now everything what you have on your PC. IP-Adress, MAC-Adress, all the Software on your PC, all the Data that goes from your PC into the net (yes including your E-Mails and your Online-Banking)... you name it, they took it from you.
