QuickFit is a ship fitter for the game Eve-Online. It is written in Java and is then multi-platform for every systems that can run Java (linux, Mac...).
It enables pilots to design a fit without having to buy the ship, equipments or without even having train skills. Very handy and helping for everyone concerned by this very tactical aspect of the game.
You can start doing a fit very quickly, as soon as you have launched the application. That's why it is called QuickFit afterall ;)
Pick a ship, equip it, look at the modified stats, look your damage output, your E.W. efficiency and simulate your CAP to know if all modules can run forever !
Just take a look at the feature list & screenshots, then download and enjoy this free application. You'll see it is way more than a simple fitter

About database matter : for the moment, I work with a pilot named Xssassin. He will give me RMR data to update QuickFit when data RMR be released on tranquility. So RMR up-to-date version of Quickfit should'nt be that long after the real patch came out.
About ship bonuses : report any ship for wich bonuses (or one of bonuses) are not working properly, AFTER having check that you had set a skill level for the said ship bonus (as in "spaceship command skill"). Each time I have a report I add or correct the ship bonus.
About accuracy of QFit : keep in mind that Quickfit is not (& cannot be) accurate exactly as ingame. It just give you an idea (rather precise) of your ability to fit a ship and what you can expect from the fit. CAP simulation, DPS calculation, EW chances etc.... are all here to be able to compare fits.
So all in quickfit tend to be as accurate as I could implement giving the information I could have grab here and there. But always expect (minor) variation with the ingame stats you may end with. What I aim is as little difference as possible. That is already quite a lot of work.
About GUI : you can now change resolution, check the Option's tab and enter your desired resolution manually. Resolution is a saved option. Some tweaks are still to be done but I think we are pretty near from what I can do on the GUI side.... Fancy GUI won't come from me. I don't plan to add icons or graphics, I prefer increase the accuracy factor than make the tool looking better than it is.
It's ugly, but it fits 
Features & bugs : I try to implement as much idea as I can have from feedback. Feel free to post feedback on the Quickfit forum (see offical website). I reply as much as possible and it's often end with resolution of problems or added feature.
Big thanx to all people who send me some bucks ! I'm still rather poor, but at least I had bought a new Stabber last day, and for this I would thank you.

New version out : 0.98s (12.12.2005) -Some tweaks in default window size -Simulation cap'regen is tweaked again -New options : auto reload in simulation, use fitted caracteristics of ships for comparaison -Option for "strip a fit" (at the top of equipment panel) -few bugs corrected and things I have forgotten

R.M.R. data are inside, thanx to Xssassin who gave me a data extraction !
So what can you expect from v0.99a ? First of all, keep in mind it is a simple "alpha" version because many things have been changed due to RMR data changes.... Devs are doing some funky tricks in database, and adapt it to QuickFit is not as easy as one could think.
There will have bugs, so please simply report them on my forums (to keep this thread clear) and I promise I will do my best to resolve all of these bugs you will discover !
Patch notes are small but work behind as been heavier... : - RMR stats updated (that was pretty big part !!!) => big big thanx to Xssassin for his data extraction ! - New combat Log Analyser (Xmas feature I hope you'll like it ) - Bugs corrected (and new ones created... )
And just for your info, stacking penalty should be very close to what you can expect ingame. Yet formula is not know so I did an approximation.
Okay, now I would like to talk about what is not yet in the 0.99a version. It is mainly concerning bonuses. I'm talking about Titan's bonuses, Carriers & drones' bonuses. I must admit that most of the mining bonuses are also not implemented.
Also, from new skills (apart spaceship-command category) only the shield and armor resist are working (unless bugged) and only for passive module. (because at the moment, you cannot "deactivate" a module in QFit stats calculations...so anyway you couldn't see new skill affecting active hardeners... )
All of these will be my task for next week(s?), along with a bug hunting...
You will also notice that NPC panel is no more what it used to be. CCP decided to have NPC a bit more dynamic (good move btw), and thus my tables are pretty useless now (data is no more stocked the way as it was before). The panel NPC will probably be removed if no use can be done of it.
Next step for QuickFit will be to add some options, and firstly a "activate" or "deactivate" option for modules that can be toggled, and keep improving the tool to make it worth your time and interest.
Last words again are to thanx you all for your support. It is really makes me happy to know that people like my work ! Many Many thanx for you all, and keep having fun with this great game we have !

New version of QuickFit is available => 0.99b is mainly about bug correcting. I recommand installing it on a brand new directory, virgin of any previous files, thus reloading your XML data... If you experience problems with values/bonuses, it might be due to old files in your 0.99b version.
WHAT'S NEW in the 0.99b : - All *reported* bugs from 0.99a corrected (in particular Ammo panel and Stacking on resistance, more details for other bugs on QFit forum...) => there must be plenty of other bugs to discover 
- Stacking on resistance is as accurate as I could make them (/me got a headache ). Probably still need a bit of tweaking, but it should give you a good idea of an expectable tanking.
- New fashion way to show launcher/turret hardpoint. This part is extremly subject to bugs as I've done it on a hurry timeframe... BUT it should be mainly drawing bugs (for instance, you may see 3 launcher'slots instead of 6, but you can still fit 6 launchers) 
- No more NPC Panel (don't blame on me, it's not my fault ) - Database optimized
- What's still not YET in : Titan bonuses, Carriers bonuses, most Drones bonuses, many mining bonuses (i'm a fighter hey !)...Expect a completed and corrected version for early next week.
On a side note, if the "load" button doesn't work for the log analyser, the workaround is to simply copy and paste your log in the textarea.
Please, continue to post your bugs on QuickFit forums. You don't need to be registered to do a report, so don't hesitate ! It is a great help to me, I work mainly on bugs reported there.

Quickfit 0.99b RC2 released.
It adress a visual bug (with the new fashion way turret/launcher slot are identified). It also correct the EW panel.
PLEASE INSTALL IT ON A BRAND NEW DIRECTORY AND DON'T USE OLD FILE WITH THIS VERSION
Every people that still have the bug with drones simply didn't start from a virgin directory.
And while i'm on it, the way QFit compute new shield/armor resistance'skills is not good. Will be corrected with the next release. My bad

Now, let's talk about 0.99c that is just out .
Since donations are really rare (much people says they will give bucks, but ISK never come ^^) I had an idea that may help me continue to update and improve the tool providing me some virtual income for the time given. (BTW many tanx to the pilots that really helps me with some ISK donation And also those that helped me with valuable bug reports )
The idea : I added a kind of "advertisement" system. When you select any T2+ item or ship, you will have the name of up to 5 corporations and contacts. These corp/contacts will be able to sell you the T2+ item/ship selected.
You can check at the Falcon or Pilgrim ship description to have an idea of what I'm talking about.
This is not a stupid and annoying advertisement, as it is not interrupting the user, and moreover it will enable him to know who sells what and I see that like a kind of feature. Industrial Corporation can grab much client from this.
Many corporation are indeed interested and will "buy" rights to be shown in the tool for each items they produce. Don't forget Quickfit is rather popular, so having your corp name directly in the everyone fits may give you much benefit !
And from this feature, I hope I'll be able to have some virtual income for my overall effort.
Bellow, you'll see the price of this service for corporations. Take it as launching discount prices, because it may increase with time.
- each T2+ items = 5M per month - each T2+ ships = 10M per month - As many T2+ items as you want : 50M per month - As many T2+ ships as you want : 100M per month
The contract is simple : you pay, I add your corp on each items you submit me. Then, I'll simply remove your corp when a full month is ended between the version you've paid for appearing in and the version that is a month later. You may even gain some weeks in the transaction if there is no version for some times.
Get Rights now : - You'll have a fixed price for 6 consecutive months, whatever will be the updated price of the service for next releases. - There is limited place per item/ship - 5 slots actually. If you grab one now, you'll have it for sure for the next 6 consecutive months. - You'll have a up to 20% discount after 6 Months on the next contract negociation.

Please do not mirror Qfit. I often do new versions, and I doubt mirrors will be up to date.
Servers simply had a downtime, they are now up again :)

WHAT'S NEW in the 0.99g ------------------------- - most bugs reported for 0.99d corrected - Ammo panel now have distinction between shield/armor and structure - Added a QuickView for some common stats in the Slot Panel. - Added missing implant effects for missiles - In the EW panel, you now have the speed needed to lock a ship giving his signature and your scan resolution - Added a search function in the NPC panel - Added a new dynamic information : the max cap needed. You can have it in the Ship Stats or in the Quickview. It represents the total amount of cap/sec needed when all modules are activated. - Directories where somehow bugged. One shouldn't have trouble using import XML function now. - What's not YET in : Titan bonuses, Carriers bonuses, many mining bonuses...

0.99k out.
Lot of improvements :
- You can now add directories to favorites. Simply do a Right click on any of favorites list, and then create a directory, move item to a directory or remove an empty directory. Really cool to have favorites less confused. BTW, there is only one level of depth for directories.
- Charge panel, drone panel and EW panel are somehow re-arranged. Actually, EW Panel has been replaced by a more generic "Stats" panel, where you'll be able to have various stats. At the moment, it is only Damage output and EW information, but probably will enhance it with some mining stats.
- Drone panel mostly reworked. You can now put various drone in your drone bay, and then select or unselect active drone. BTW here's a little tips : you can select or unselect drone by right-clicking on checkboxes. Same goes with the CAP Simulation panel...
- Some drones module have been corrected or implemented. - Compiled with the latest JRE. So basically, you must have the latest JRE installed to have QuickFit working. This change is due to some security issue that has been resolved in the last Java JRE SDK. Update available at java.sun.com (search for latest JRE)
- What's not YET in : Titan bonuses, Carriers bonuses, many mining bonuses...
Some notes relative to previous poster :

Do not install ".Net". It is Java, so install the Java JRE available at java.sun.com.
Please, reinstall from a brand new directory if you want avoiding bugs. If it is 0.99, it is because it requires still much tuning and version after version, there might have some incompatibilities.
BTW : ships saved previously won't work in 0.99k. (due to dronebay rehaul).

Unfortunately, I cannot correct this. It is probably an incompatibility with your hardware and the Kava Runtime. I heard deactivating Graphic Card AntiAliasing resolved most of these BSOD and freeze...
I'm really sorry, but only Sun can resolve the problem as it is their graphic library that is bugged. 
About resistance stacking : I have difficulties for stacking two hardeners when one is active and the other is passive. That is explain the results given when adding a active and a passive on the same resist. Will try to wprk it out, but I'm on it since the 0.98 and didn't find yet how to manage this..

Only correcting favorites. So you can now use favorites again. Also, don't hesitate to play with the mouse right click on favorites lists, to create, remove or move items to custom directories...
I'm very busy atm so cannot do a big improvment, but seeing the low number of bugs reported, I admit there mustn't have big troubles with latest QF version (except JRE upgrade)

Another version out !
WHAT'S NEW in the 0.99p ----------------------- - You can now play with a new tab : "Filter". As the name said, it enable you to filter modules giving somme criteria : * hi / med / low slot * having strict CPU and Grid compliance * Beig buyable on market
Note that it will automatically filter modules that match your left cpu and powergrid. (the +20% cpu/pgrid is here to relax a bit this constraint).
I use this filter mainly when I have 1 or 2 slots left and without an idea of what I could fit in there... Feed back welcome on this new feature.... :)
- Hi/ Med / Low slots are now given a color on the 'Browse' tab. You will find the high slots in Blue, med slots in Green and low slots in Yellowish... It is purely graphical tips to help people that are not yet used with common modules. Also, note that even if it seems a 'quick' improvment, it took me a lot of time to implement. But it also open up for some graphical extension if I decide to... :)
- Some bugs (missing capital shield booster, staking on shield amplifiers..) are resolved. Didn't have much bug reports however, so either the program isn't too much bugged, either people do not report bugs ;)

First and foremost, many many thanx for all your support, both with bug reports and donations. It really makes me happy to see such people around this little tool :)

And by the way : no QFit won't ever be a skill manager, Eve Character Manager (E.C.M.) from Future Falcon already did it excessively well !
Basically : grab what skill you need for the fit of your dream and go on E.C.M. to have a precise idea of how to manage this skill list :P

BUGS (read this as bugreport that are now fixed) ------------------------------------------------------- * Drone Sharpshooting should increase drone optimal range * Looks like the damage bonus for torp skill is not applied to the advanced torps in quickfit (477 * 1.25 = 596.25). * The Backup array and ECCM do not seem to work. * ECCM Radar mods - does not stack, but they should * The Breacher is supposed to receive +10% explosive missile damage and +5% EM/thermal/kinetic missile damage per level in Minmatar Frigate. However, it looks like the values have been swapped : explosive missiles/rockets receive only a +5% bonus, while the other three types see a +10% increase. * Some of the 'Named' Resistance Plates are showing the wrong damage type they are resistant to. * The bonus to missile launcher CPU needs from the KTA100/1000 implants is missing in Quickfit. * There is no "decrease launcher rof" but 2 x "increase missiles flight time". * Additionaly if I select the 2nd "increase missiles flight time" in the list and set to 5(%) the launcher ROF is *increased*? * seems that Ishtar get only 5% bonus to drone damage etc per Gallante cruiser level. From Ishtar description: 10% bonus to drone hitpoints and damage per skill level * Target painter 1 requires target painting 1 and electronics 3. * The sig radius of whatever target I choose remains unaffected by target painters * calculation for warp distance may be a bit buggy. It shows my Crow has a distance of 58.6 AU, but I just made a 72 AU warp with about 1/4 cap to spare. * As it stands, quickfit shows my max warpdistance on a kestrel to be 30.7AU since I have Warp Drive Operation 3. The actual in game warp distance is closer to the 62-63AU range. * I tried with Modulated Deep Core Miner 2 (and could fit it on a Mining barge), Modulated Strip Miner 2, Modulated Deep Core Strip Miner 2. When I try to fit any mining crystal to these modules i get a message the charge type is not compatible with the selected module. * I think the Gila missile damage is wrong. At least i get double damage bonus (10% DMG/caldari cruiser lvl) if i load scourge heavy, and no dmg bonus if i load other heavy missile. (arby heavy, and 2*T2 BCU). * Stealth bombers get an explosion radius bonus of 0.167 that is not taken into account by Quickfit, thus making damage computation on anything smaller than a cruiser wrong. * "successful" only have one 'l', not two * Smartbombs aren't included in DPS calcs. o/ * when I fit a cargo expander to an industrial the log shows that my industrial skill bonus & Navigation skill bonus are being applied to the negative speed attribute of the cargo expander. For example: Navigation (lvl 4) -> Alpha Hull Mod Expanded Cargo.speedBonus : -10.0 m/sec => -12.0 m/sec * cant't fit Codebreaker I into the ship * CM target painting drones also have no effect on the stats tab. * The SM1 seems to use the correct bonus from skills + barge but the MSM2 do not. * Frequency Modulation and Long distance jamming are applied to all EW modules not only ECM.
PATCH UPDATE -> See EVE ONLINE patch notes, almost all impacts should have been included. Details in the QFit readme file

There's nothing that happens directly when you active a ship. You just have to go in the Equipment's tab to play with the fit... Have you checked Equipment tab after having select a ship as active ?

Sorry, there's a small bug on 1.0b. You must have capital ships and advanced spaceship command skills level set to 0 in order to bypass the bug
1.0b2 is hopefully coming at the end of this week to resolve this bug and add some feature to POS panel.

It may be a trojan-hacked version, and it would be really sad that you could be infected on the name of my tool.

Regarding Revelation major update : It will be really a nastry task to report all mods on the actual database.
I will work on it and hopefully will have a new updated version some weeks after Revelation is out. I can assure I will release it, but I cannot tell you if it will be the day after the patch or 3 weeks later.
I think the best way for me to make it fast is to grab a new extraction given by CCP (t20 gives us nice extraction last times : http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=246 )

Finally I made it all together and packed it all in a new Revelation Updated version.
There is basically nothing new yet, I have only updated data. There might be many glitches here and there, so please help me by giving reports on the official website.
There are also a Russian traduction and a Swedish traduction. Feedbacks are welcome on these traduction, to see it they work well or not.

There is a major bug with PowerGrid when you set a lvl in Engineering skill. I will release a new version for the 2 of january to correct at least this and some other issues..

I think this version is quite a good one (apart from a hidden big bug i'm not aware of, but it should be okay....I hope )

Sorry, but data extraction are not up to date regarding changes on nano/overdrive/inertia.
And don't expect me to adjust one by one each modules at hand. I might release a version soon, but will only update Overdrive T1, Inertia T1 and Nanofiber T1.
And of course fix things here and there.

WHAT'S NEW IN 1.3 -------------------------- * Resistance Rigs (shield and armor) won't be ignored when there is no other hardening modules fitted * Nanofibers, Overdrives, Inertia Stabilizer are now inline with ingame behavior and values * Cargo Expanders fixed * Siege Module bug with damage-modifier is resolved (no more effect on damage mods and drones) * Warp Core Stabilizer are fixed * Images are available for ships, it's only a cosmetic features however... * Langage adaptation should work better for chinese and russian people. * Ammunitions now saved and loaded (and backward compatibility should be OK)
* All the QFit packaging has been reworked. Please start from new directory. (you can however bring back your qft and xml files).

Just back from holydays.
1.4b is out as soon as I saw much people claiming a fix for the skill bug.
WHAT'S NEW IN 1.4b ----------------- * Changing skill : bug is fixed. You can also refresh skill tree now * You can now deactivate graphics (ie ship images) in the options tab
Please forgive me for the previous release, I uploaded it right before taking my plane. This one should work better...

Actually you just have to install JRE from sun downloadable at java.com. After having installing it (basic windows install), just unzip QFit anywhere you want and launch it. I hardly can explain more, and it is not ironical 
If it doesn't work this way on your computer, it means you already have done tweaks and it often means that a JRE install as no secret for you... (still I'm not ironical). Have Fun !
