Come on.. CCP must do something about this BS! There is many pirates with high (+) sec status, and we cant even set a "real" bounty on their heads. This is wierd? Ofcourse u can hire a bounty hunter etc... But I think u should loose ALL your + and get to - if u shoot at anyone, or worse, kill someone...=(

I agree with this one, you should be dumped into the negs no matter what your sec status if you pod someone in high sec space. -----

You'll find that pirates with a positive security rating are the most dangerous.
After all, they attack players in non-empire space and those players are likely to be armed to the teeth.

I've been playing for a month and hell I'm still a damn noob. Of course I almost had my ass handed over to me in 0.0 while I was in my Thorax (thanks Tolstoy, hehe) and hell if I didn't deserve it. I enjoy the pirates, hell even those pod killers out there. You make me look at my map and keep me from taking a crap while jumping from system to system. You make me think twice when I park my Iteron for a little afk 1.0 mining. Awesome. I know what to/not to do.... But hell if I did my first few days. I agree with a noob sector for each race/class. I agree that 1.0 space could be off limits to those of us who are above the law so to speak. I enjoy the game the way it is. I just hate explaining crap to all my other noob pals out there that got PK'd thier first day playing that it doesn't happen everyday and how to avoid sticky situations. Call me lazy but oh well. |

Perhaps agents could be used. If you had a good agent you could have him pull some "strings" and reduce the sec rating of someone. If they can raise secs up why can't they lower them? Of course you would have to put in a way to stop from one agent raising and another lowering and back and forth until one of them goes broke. This could also be used to get ore thieves and if you want someone to be "taken care of" it could be possible. - - - - - - - Disclaimer I take no responsibility for the spelling or grammar usage in the above statement Nor do i agree with its ideas and or claims Or even acknowledge its existance. |

Wow, I feel so special. :)
I have a positive sec rating because I fought an awful lot of NPCs before I became a pirate. Destroying and podkilling in non-empire space doesn't do much for your sec rating, hence why mine is still positive. If you want to travel in 0.0 space, in a good ship, without insurance or a clone, or even some cash on you, expect the worst.
If I open a convo and am ignored, or otherwise slandered, or blocked while the ship makes full steam for the gate, I'm going to kill you, simple as that. I will give you an opportunity to pay, but you have to take it. Ignore it and you're out of luck.

They should implement an option to ask a person's crimesheet @ concord. Make it cost 5000 isk to request it.
E.g.
-click crimesheet button for SKiNNiEH-
SKiNNiEH Raven Cartel

-----
This never happened ofcourse, but if you were in 0.0 space in your indy and you see me in local this would be a nice way to find out. If i had a high security rating you would still know if i would be pose a threat.
Someone here might say that in 0.0 space CONCORD wouldn't know about any killing someone might have done, but the fact is that everyone receives an email from CONCORD stating the parties involved in the destruction of your ship even if it happened in a system at the edge of the universe. So technically... a crimesheet like this should be no problem.

As far as I'm concerned, until you've been a pirate, you have no business commenting on how easy it is. It's far from it. There are about 4 million other threads explaining why, so I'm not going through it again. You don't like pirates and thus you want us nerfed. Deal with it, we'll be hunting you no matter how much you whine. :)

it's not nerfing you cos i imagine you're negative sec. we're on about positive sec pirates who cloak themselves on local with their positive status and then can you.
as for the comment about pirates having a hard life, i can imagine there are lots of boring hours waiting for victims to turn up, but i am yet to see a pirate in a worse ship than mine, so yes it might be hard, butuntil you've mined for 2 months, you can't comment either. ------------------------------------------------------------

I think that empires like Amarr, Caldari and so on should automaticly add to the bounty list when someone podkills in their space.
So it would be something like this,
Destroy a ship in 0.8-1.0 empire space you get a bounty added Destroy a pod in 0.8-1.0 empire space you get a huge bounty added
Destroy a ship in 0.4-0.7 you get tiny bit added Destroy a pod in 0.4-0.7 you get bounty added
Destroy a ship in 0.1-0.3 you get nothing added Destroy a pod in 0.1-0.3 you get bounty added
outside of empire space its fair game
What would hope this would achive is that some of the best pirates would start hunting other pirates because there would be more money in it that way than hunting innocent miners. One other rule would be that for the biggest pod killers the bounty doesnt go away unless after a week. Same corp members would not get bounty for killing their own.
biggest exploit would be to start pod killing alot of people to get bounty and then have a friend kill you and then you share the bounty. Stop this and you have a good system.

I think every player should have 2 sec ratings. One for the character and the other for the corporation which would list the security rating of the character with the lowest security rating in the corporation.
This would tell you if the corporation allows piracy.
Attacking people in 0.0s should result in loss of 0.01 security or less. I don't think a pirate should be able to kill people all day long without loosing any security rating.
Don't flame, just an idea.

Why would your security rating be effected by attacked another player in 0.0 space There is no security. No cops, no gate turrets, nothing. Wouldn't you need some sort of security forces to track acts of aggresion in order for it to count against your rating Seems pretty straight forward to me. When traveling in a 0.0 system watch your back all the time.

Lose your sec rating for a pod kill, rediculous. The way it is setup at the moment is just fine. I have to "work" real hard to keep my sec rating positive after doing a killing run on players. This involves killing an extremely large amount of npc's in order to boost the rating. For those "player-pirates" who have a negative rating, well it is their fault for that, and they should expect severe penalties when entering Concord space. A clever killer, keeps a positive rating, however hard to keep.

Why should i not compare eve to real life after all it is supposed to be a space "sim". If you shoot sombody in the center of london you can expect the authorities to respond, however if you shoot sombody in the center of a wartorn african state there will be little of no repercussions. This is the whole point of 0.0 space if you dont want to get shot by anybody who feels like it + or - sec stavy in empire space. Im getting sick of *****es whining bout 1 thing or another just because they are pussies. The point im making is if you go into 0.0 you take your life in your own hands that is why CCP put the good pirate bounties out there and the good ore. High risk High Profit. If you dont like this f-off and play SWG.

What worries me is that there is more non-pirate than pirate and if CCP listens to ppl's unreasonable rants just because they have lost a ship they will move the goalpoasts again. Piracy is currently the hardest profession along with specialist security firms. I feel that ppl should try using ther brains instead of simply asking pirates to be nerfed.
An idear i have had that would make both piracy and security a much more viable profession would be Uber trade runs to the far edges of know space. This would enable ppl to make huge profits which in turn would attract lots of pirate to these routes. As a direct result of this trade corps would be able to employ security firms to escort there indys. These trade runs could be brought in with storyline such as an increace of deepspace outposts that need stations and supplies. Any feedback on this idear would be appreciated.

I didn't say you should be punished or attacked by authorities if you kill someone in 0.0, you can do so in 0.4, that's not an issue.
The issue is that everyone who earns his living by killing other players should have negative security rating.
Is it because you're afraid to have a negative security rating? If you can't deal with it you shouldn't do it than. You shouldn't be ashamed of who you are. I am voting for neg sec rating for all pirates.
Other players would still get to have fun occasionally killing a person or two because they would only loose 0.01 of their sec rating.

Again EVE is not RL and it shouldn't be compared to it.
Secondly, the same way you kill NPCs in 0.0s and gain sec rating you should loose sec rating when you kill people in 0.0s as well. Not by much, just so your rating keeps going down as you kill more people.
That way people can put bounty on your head, and I can collect it when I kill you.

Having the ability to go to a CONCORD or DED office and file a report would be something they could do to add a bit more interest to the security system.
If one person reports you, nothing happens. If several people report you, CONCORD starts to take notice, but still nothing happens. But if you get reported enough times, your security status starts to go down. This way, if a particular player attacks enough people and enough of those people report him to the police, the police start to recognise his name as a trouble maker.
The exact details would have to be worked out, and perhaps although unrealistic maybe add a fee to file a report, but at least with a system like this or something similar to this, you could convince CONCORD that a given individual would be worth watching. |

In 0.4 - 0.1 pirates take thes security hits so they can easily be seen. Giving u a clear chance to avoid any risk. When you go to 0.0 space dont trust anyone. High risk = High reward. This is the fundamental differnce beteween the two places. Without this difference we may as well do away with 0.0 regions all together. Well just all live in one big carebare system.
I can see no constructive reason to alter the current system. The only people that want it changed are the carebares that want all the good things with no risk.
However i do think that u shouldnt be able to gain sec status by hunting NPC pirates in a 0.0 system. Security status should cease to function at all levels in 0.0 space.
