These are medium rails. People have been asking for a medium rail buff since forever. I seriously doubt he's going to buff large rails. Most likely those aren't going to get touched at all. They're pretty balanced currently.

This is true, smalls and heavies and capitals haven't been addressed specifically.
This smells like a total rail re-balance to me though...
If medium rails are getting a 30% DPS both then maybe larges might see 10% or something instead, or none at all. This remains to be seen...

It's specifically a medium rail buff. Large rails are already the choice weapon in bloc warfare. The Rokh in particular, is the premiere battleship of the line for most alliances. Medium rails are ******* atrocious though but I doubt they make it through with the ~40% buff they have now. |

Well the Rokh at least for the CFC was mostly an alphafleet alternative for people who didn't want to use the Maelstrom. The coalition doctrine is now the rail Mega, probably owing to the fact that armor tackle is far more durable than shield tackle. However for RAZOR and several other alliances the rail Naga has been and continues to be extremely powerful in its own right.
Any buff to large rails would put them over the top. -áMy (mostly boring) Youtube channel. |

If we wondered why CCP doesn't understand why Gallente was that terrible, got a bit better and still needs some attention, now we now why.
If I undock with my ship full skills no implants and says 300dps (just for numbers) I have to assume CCP reads 600.
I thought they used roman numbers like us and had same significance, apparently it doesn't. Does anyone have a numbers translator so I can figure out how much dps my Megathron does in CCP numbers?

Well, even a WoW newbie to EvE could figure that out.
Took but a couple to missions to see that hybrids have worse DPS than healers can dish out.
Gallente's need for drones to make up for the lack of firepower was probably CCP's idea in keeping rails nerfed (which would make them OP at range). Since Caldari and Minmatar has missiles not a huge loss of firepower (but limits the factions what ships they can fly). Due to those mechanics is why I never touched their ships. It's like playing a Hunter in WoW, and if that's not how you like to play, Gallente wouldn't be appealing anyhow (still won't touch their ships with the buff. Duck tape is better still!). Erm...ammo needs tweaks, seriously.
Spike needs a huge buff to dps and a nerf to fall off, the heck with a TE and TC max range your shells can hit beyond max targeting range (250km) but does such a poor dps it's not even interesting to do this without full lows of MFS (I have one mega with 4MFS and even with this +3TE Iridium hits harder)
The 3 real interesting ammo types are Faction AM, Thorium and Iridium then Null for blasters (Void is interesting still but limits so much range for a small dps increase it's not very interesting imho unless on top of a carrier and shooting it) Javelin is quite interesting for rails while traveling between gates.
So in short my opinion about the interesting ammo is: Javelin, Null, faction AM, faction Thorium and Iridium, Spike only for sniping with a no tank but all gank fit, andif those are the most interesting is not because they're very good but just because we have no other interesting choice because I already told a couple times the next range ammo type will be doing less dps in its optimal the precedent one does in fall off which makes many ammo types pointless.

Just saying that you cannot deduct much about it from a single picture.
The fit itself seems terrible, because there is no nano or overdrive visible. The second TE only gets penalized whereas an overdrive would help with the end speed and to get the whole ship together with guns and point into range. 12.5% more speed helps better than 8% more tracking and can mean you are now flying in a straight line and are shooting from optimal range. This Thorax is not going to catch much unless it wants to be caught, in which case one could have fitted it with an AB just the same, avoided the whole signature bloom and used 250mm railguns with AM/Javelin for more range and DPS.
This whole 2x TE, 2x Dmg Mod with MWD and shield buffer setup is anything but original. I have seen it on so many ships before. Any buff that makes it more viable and on more than Minmatar ships is a terrible buff. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

It's true you cannot see the rigs and implants. Even with T1 damage rigs and 3% implants it hits around 350dps. Could be showing 20% damage increase for med rails. |

You know? I have noticed this problem with just about every "long range" ammo in the game. Radio, Microwave, Nuclear, Spike, Tungsten, Iron.
All of them completely suck except for Scorch.
